Is there some sort of trick to getting a PS2 RF adaptor to work?

I bought one a few weeks ago on ebay and when it arrived and hooked it up I was ablr to get a clear dispplay but the sound was terrible. Loads of static on top of the sound I was supposed to hear.

I chalked it up to getting a bad one and just recently bought another one, different brand this time from Best Buy. Well it's the same thing. Ok display but terrible static sound.

I have a Dreamcast hooked up to the television and the sound is just fine. I also bought a Gamecube RF adaptor which I use on the same set and the sound is fine as well. Only with the PS2 do I have problems. I know the PS2 is good because it works on my other TV with the AV cables.

Has anyone else had this problem or have any suggestions?

I'd either go with Sony and see how that turns out, or else just get a tv with better jacks! You're REALLY missing out if you don't have S-video or at the very least composite. TV's with good jacks are getting cheaper and cheaper these days!

Is there a Chan 2/3/4 option? Is there another video source going into the television at the same time? Like a cable or antenna feed going through the RF box.

My toploader rf won't work with anything else going in the coax. So I can't have the cable or a rf switchbox hooked up or bad picture and sound.
I've tried several different rf units and the same thing. So that might be your problem.

My atari gets severe interference as well when something else is hooked up to its RF box.

the RF on my gamecube has good picture and good sound. i don't usually blare it because i always play in the middle of the night and i'm not a person for loud video games, atleast not on the cube. but when i scroll through the menu on sonic mega collection......once you reach the top or bottom of the menu and try to keep going.....it makes this god awful noise, sounds like the speakers are spitting at you. and i tried a new RF.....no luck. so as soon as i sell some more stuff i'm going to look for the best damn 20 inch TV that money can buy. because i saw a madcatz S-vid cable for all 3 systems at walmart for $10.....i think. maybe a little more but the cords are short....and it's just perfect for my tv stand......ooooo i can't wait :D any tips on a good 20 inch TV?
