Madden 94 limited edition?

I just picked up a boxed Madden 94 (gen) at a thrift last night. On the box is a gold star type sticker saying it's a Limited Edition, First Round, and it has what looks to be a serial number or something. Anyone know what this is?

I believe all EA Sports games did that that year. I remember the USA Basektaball game having a number on it. Never did figure out how many were actually printed that way though....I'm sure it was just a gimmick.

From my research, it's a bunch of "bunk". More than half of the EA Sports titles that I find that had that lmited edition business have the sticker on them, and THAT half is still more plentiful than most other Genesis games.

It's cool I guess, but I wouldn't put any stock in them.

yea, kinda like this year, when TRU had a sign saying "now taking pre-orders for madden 2004...Limited Quantities"I almost fell over laughing, limited to what? 5 million? LOL
