View Full Version : Games You're Embarrassed To Tell People You Own

I know this DS game says "Bratz: Super Babyz" on the cover, but why are people looking at me like it says "Imagine: Pedophile"?
(Okay, I don't own this one yet, but I DO own a couple of Bratz games... And I'm debating the Hannah Montana Plug N Play, God help me.)

I'm not really too embarrassed of them; I admit to owning them and everything. But off the top of my head,
Taboo: The Sixth Sense (NES)
Sesame Street: 1 2 3 (NES) (not too bad for what it is)
Ironsword: Wizards & Warriors II (NES) (not a commentary on the game itself, but it does have that picture of Fabio on the label)
Michael Jackson's Moonwalker (Genesis) (actually not a bad game IMO)
Shaq-Fu (SNES)
Kris Kross: Make My Video (Sega CD)

superman 64, not my fault though I didnt buy it, was a present as a kid.
Although I bought soldier of fortune payback on ps3. I read all the reviews and knew it would be bad, but wanted to see for myself. I only paid 20 bucks for it, and it wasnt as bad as I thought. It is like a really cheesy action movie , so bad its hilarious.

I have The Little Mermaid for the NES, and, embarassingly as it is, I really like it. It's a fun, easy, short little game. I actually kept it from a girl I used to kiss/argue with (mostly arguing. Oh, what a dumb kid I was) in 7th grade, so it's got some sentimental value as well. :)
I also own and like Power Rangers - The Movie for the SNES. But there's really no excuse for THAT...

Nah, it makes you a collector. I finally found one to buy, and I had to explain to the salesguy that it was really rare and I was only buying it for collecting purposes, not to really play. Just to alleviate my embarrassment.

yea even with the newer graphics sof2 is still way gorier. Like the gore on sof payback is crap. One shot to the head blows off their entire head every time. It is comical at first but then gets annoying.

Probably my original copies of Sexy Beach 1-3 and Artificial Girl 1-3. I know I'm married but they're still fun...Hentai games in general aren't my liking but the 3D ones aren't bad.

Yeah the guys at Game Crazy already noticed I was grabbing every single game I didn't have yet when they were going for $2.50 a piece and later $1. So they didn't say a word when they saw Barney's Hide & Seek and Barbie for Genesis, NSync Get to the Show for Game Boy Color, or even Mary Kate & Ashley Crush Course and Spiceworld for Playstation 1. Haha, one employee said his cousin tried to play Spiceworld and beat it after a while.
But nothing embarasses me because I have no shame. I know what I'm doing and I care not what others think. Everybody knows I'm a collector.
But you should know where these games go: in the closet in cardboard boxes with all the sports games and games that the Angry Video Game Nerd hates.

Shove it!
The Warehouse Game.
This is actually the title. The cover looks so generic and plain bad. It's about a gut that moves boxes in a warehouse for a living.? All day he thinks about hot chicks, fast cars and cold hard cash. It says if you can beat the game you get this stuff. I have to beat this game. In between levels it has a really bad animation of him sliding a box across the warehouse floor. The game isn't really that bad. It's kinda a good puzzle game? But who had the idea to make a game about a guy in a warehouse? Then call the game Shove it! The Warehouse Game! Really? That's the best there imagination could do? All they had to do was change the sprites of the guy, change the sprites of the boxes, keep all the workings and definitely change the name of the game!!! Aliens, gross stuff, Cartoon things IDK!? Anything but Shove it! The Warehouse Game!!! I love how f'n stupid this game is!

As with chemdawg (and many here) I used to play Pokemon Blue/Red when I was younger, and never bought another after Yellow, but have been going back and re-collecting the ones I skipped over the years because my oldest kid has taken a liking to them. He also likes pogs so its fun to see someone enjoying something you did at a younger age...

Personally, every once and a while I pick up my Pokemon Blue and play it and Im 18. Its just a well made, simple, engaging RPG. The new ones blow, from what I heard, but the originals are always classics.

I was in a struggle about posting this but I finally decided to do it >____>;
I got ... Sailor Moon S Jougairantou Shuyaku Soudatsuhen for the SFC. Not only is it the worst fighting game next to Clayfighter 63 3/4, but it is also ...well, simply Sailor Moon - which I consider a no-go for any boy.. ~____~;
Where did I get that game anyway?
Second thing I'm not particularly proud of is another SFC game named Love Quest. Basically a standard RPG with the difference that instead of monsters, you battle women... You defeat them, you win their hearts. Crappy game and I honestly don't know what I'm trying to compensate with that <____<;

I'm embrassed about all the games I have that I'm never going to finish. Ugh, I have too many licenced games that I lost interest in. Other than Kingdom Hearts and Katamari, there's nothing in my PS2 library to proud of. And why did I buy Nights: Journey of Dreams for Wii despite the mediocre reviews? The flying parts are nice, but those dumb platformer stages are just boring.
Embrassing games I actually do play: Bolt and Disney Sing It for 360. I played the demo of Bolt and loved it...you're a cute little dog that can toss lots of enemies and can break all sorts of stuff, including big SUVs! That is just cool. And Sing It is basically Disney Channel Lips. I am a girl, so I'm allowed to like Disney Channel, right?
There is one game I never play that I'm NOT embrassed of: Pokemon Box for GameCube. A clerk at the Pokemon Center in NYC convinced me into getting it. It's not complete, but it's kinda cool to have something all the collectors want :P.

Hello Kity Waku Waku on Dreamcast, Your the cat on a level and jump oncake to complete them :embarrassed:
Heheheh... I don't let people look through my DS rom folder anymore cause I grabbed Hello Kitty Big City Dreams for my gf and kept the rom around for some reason :x I even played it for a few minutes cause there's some weird bug with the save file that usually makes it crash on flash carts and I wanted to make sure the workaround I found would work on the ones we use...I gotta say, if I had any patience whatsoever for Animal Crossing and similar games, I probably would have kept playing :P
As for girly-looking games I actually liked, anyone heard of My World My Way? I know it sounds like a crap non-game from the title, but it's a kind of RPG-lite with a self-and-genre parodising sense of humor, and a 'Pout' menu to change the scenery, monsters, call 'Ladies First!' before a battle to get the first attack, etc...great fun, reviewed well, but at least one or two reviews ended with some kind of joking about "Two options if the Gamestop clerk looks at you funny when you buy this, either say it's for your little sister, or punch him in the face"
http://i40.tinypic.com/244a4c6.jpg
If you like console RPG's at all, even a little, even if you think most are overcomplicated, drawn out, boring, or cliche....give this a spin, I don't think you can possibly hate it!

WTH is wrong with Pokemon TCG and Pokemon Stadium?
For me though, probably some of the old crappy NES and SNES games I can't bring myself to part with, such as:
-Home Alone 2 (SNES)
-Scooby Doo Mystery! (SNES)
-Road Runner's Death Valley Rally (SNES, though not that bad)
-Bugs Bunny's Birthday Blowout (NES)
-Captain Skyhawk (NES, I ****ing hate this game)
-Tom and Jerry: The Ultimate Game of Cat and Mouse (NES)
If not for the nostalgia, I wouldn't own a single one of these.

Yeah, I got it as a gift. Back in the day I was a huge Scooby Doo fan... well, I still like Scooby but none of the new stuff is really worthwhile. That new live action film that's premiering on Cartoon Network in September looks downright horrible. Scooby Doo: The Mystery Begins.
Back on topic, I'm surprised very few people are mentioning the Capcom or Sega Disney games. They're great games, but if you tell someone, "Hey, I have a game called The Great Circus Mystery Starring Mickey and Minnie!" they would probably give you a funny look.

Dude, koshichka, I was totally going to post My World, My Way. I just picked it up - mostly because it seemed like it was going to be hard to get in the future, but also 'cause I want to play it.
Princess Tomato in the Salad Kingdom for the NES. I can just hear some of my friends sayin, "what in the fuck is this gay ass shit?" if they say saw the cart and read the title.

No barbies or barney games here.
I do own an old PS one RPG called Guardian's Crusade. One of the first games I used my money to buy. At first I thought it was so cool just by the cover and back of the game case. Then realized it was a toned RPG with a kiddy story and game play. You threw out 'toys' and fought alongside them. Not too embarrassing. The game is pretty good, but its just a bit childish.
Oh yea and the disc is pink.
Also own some dumb bugs bunny game for the Gameboy. Game blows hard.
