Because Crais must have been the first person EVER to come up with something so original as an ex-cop antihero.
Seriously, maybe someone involved meant some of the similarities as a nice tribute to the guy's books. Or maybe the similarities are just a coincidence seeing as how grizzled ex-cop characters all seem to have the same generic characteristics. Sounds like an overreaction at any rate.
