We know liscensed titles usually suck hairy ass. (Thank you, THQ  ) But there are many exceptions out there. What liscensed titles kick ass, thereby defying the entire video game universe? Indiana Jones is a great motif for a game, as long as it is done right. Atari did it right when releasing I.J. and the Temple of Doom in the arcades. The only I.J. game that rocks more is I.J.'s Greatest Adventures on the SNES, a joint venture of Lucasarts, JVC, and Factor 5. The game feels a lot like the Star Wars Trilogy on the SNES, and yet, it is somehow better than all three. I don't know what it is. But according to a reliable source (you should know who you are ;) ) the game kicks ass. I purchased it, and I was hooked. It truly is that great a game.

So... liscensed titles that you think rock. What are they?

Willow for the NES was a good one.
That's...pretty much the only one that comes to mind...

Quite a few of the Star Wars titles for the consoles and PC are great.

Also, can anyone dispute that Goldeneye for N64 was a great licensed title?

I'd say Total Recall for the NES.

er, now that the crack is out of my system... I honestly can't think of any titles besides some of the Star Wars titles....

Ducktales 1 and 2 were really good licensed games.

Come to think of it, most of Capcoms licensed games came out really good.

Of course I meant you. None other. :-D

I played all of these games, and I can certainly say that these are some damned fine games. They aren't perfect, but they are excellent. That's good enough for me.

I see Krull, hmm. One of the Krull arcade games in MAME (the only one?) by...gottlieb? That's not too good.

I'd put X-MEN (the Konami arcade beat-em-up) on this list, but I like the Aliens arcade game Konami put out better. They're close, though.

Never played the Krull arcade game, but I played the hell out of the 2600 game when I was a kid. I still play it from time these days too.

Alien versus Predator was a great arcade game, probably one of the best beat em' ups out there.

Yes indeed it is. Had my list been a top twenty five or thirty, it would have made it.

There used to be an AvP machine in my local arcade. I played the hell out of it. :)

Krull is a completely different game in the arcade than it is on the 2600.

It's all about Ducktales. And possibly Chip 'n' Dale Rescue Rangers.

Uncle Scrooge ought to be in Marvel vs Capcom 3. (Surely, after Kingdom Hearts, Disney could not object too much.)

Haha Duck Tales...yes that was a quality game as well, I forgot about that one. A lot of those other games (TMNT, etc.) are also decent games. That Aliens vs Predator arcade game is rockin', too, as is XMen vs. Street Fighter.

Now that I'm thinking about it - Terminator: Future Shock wasn't a bad FPS. It was kind of cool to fly around HKs and stuff. It's just rather obscure (possibly rare) and I got motion sickness playing it...they must have done something wrong with the motion in the game.

Come to think of it, there were quite a few Jurassic Park games of reasonable quality, no?
