My Nomad has gone kaput and I need to crack it open to fix it. Something's gone wrong with the Start button. 5 of the 6 screws are Phillips screws but the sixth is a security bolt. Does anyone know what this screw is and where I can get the tool to open it?

check out ebay, there are two different security bits. you should be able to get both in a package deal. for like.......$9 maybe, but they are used in NES games, SNES games and consoles, N64 consoles, N64 games, Genesis games.......and that might be it but i'm sure there are more. they are very useful...........just search for nintendo security or something along those lines.
i may need to be corrected but i'm about 99% sure that will do it.

I'm guessing here but it's probably the 4.5 mm bit, the one used in Sega carts. The 3.8 MM gamebit is used for everything Nintendo just about, NES, Gameboy, SNES cartridges. Get both. You will eventually need either if you're going to be opening up game stuff.

The security bit tool sets on eBay may not work though. I tried to open a Nomad using the one I bought on eBay and it's not long enough. The hole for the security screw is way too deep. But, I would suggest getting one so you know what you need and it helps to open up all kinds of other stuff.
