The problem is that there is loud interference noise (like when there is just snow on the tv) that I can't get rid of. I have perfect picture quality, and the actual game sound can be heard in the background, but it is drowned out by the 'snow noise'.
Can any Colecovision wiz help me out here? It might be a simple solution since I am a total noob when it comes to the CV.
Thanks in advance.

Does the sound get louder/quieter if you put your finger on the power switch and apply a little pressure?
If so, you may need to clean the switch itself.

I'm having a similar problem with a colecovision that I've got right now:

I dont' know what's causing it, but I'll give Lost Monkey's suggestion a shot, and report back.

Applying pressure to the power switch didn't make any difference. Also, the interference noise only occurs when there are graphics on the screen. When the screen goes black for a split-second between levels, the interference noise also goes away for a split-second at the same time. Any other suggestions?
Thanks.

Just wondering, are you using the original cable to hook it up, or just a generic RCA cable?
A generic RCA cable might not have enough insulation on the wires.

I'm using a generic RCA cable with an RCA-to-coaxial adaptor. Do you think that would make a difference?

A generic RCA cable can pick up interference. Some are better than others, but you might want to try a higher quality RCA cable with more insulation.

I'll give it a try. The weird thing is that I use the same cable for all of my pre-nes systems, and this sound problem does not occur anywhere except with the colecovision.
