Datel, the makers of freeloader, are making their own version of the gameboy player for the gamecube. It'll be through the memory card slot instead of through the bottom, and it will be territory free. Also it'll sell for $29.95. Sounds interesting, but I'll still stick with my GBP.

I don't see why not...but I'm sure we'll find out for sure soon enough.

That could be nice for the more casual gamer. Will it have link cable support?

Key thing here = no boot disc necessary. Less wear on the drive and laser assembly.
If this turns out to be pretty good I will get a used cube and one of these doohickeys just so I'll finally have a GBA 'console.' x_x

Unfortunately, the article does state that it will also use a boot disc. Not that it matters much since I believe it is only used to start up the program.

If it's like the GBA SP or the GBP, all games with the exception of one:
Kirby's Tilt and Tumble.
Too bad, because that game is actually quite fun.

Can't you still pick up the Gamecube and tilt it around?

Boot disc needed. And this will only play GBA games, not normal GB or GBC stuff...

Really needs a boot disc? Then scratch that noise. The original note I read in Lik-Sang said nothing about it.

It doesn't, for some reason, on the product page, but it does in the news story...

Well that most certainly is a waste of time. Like I said, I'm sticking with my GBP.
