This question's for everyone who's played both the Saturn and Playstation versions of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Which one do you prefer? Personally, I like the Playstation game best, as it's got the best special effects and easier to follow English dialogue. However, I can understand why some people who enjoy the Saturn version more, as it has an extra character and a couple of extra stages (including a beautiful but deadly courtyard garden).
There's one other reason I made this post. What's up with the font in the Playstation version of the game? It looks, well, familiar. Check out the latest update of my siite and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Tough call on this one... but I kind of prefer the PSX version, extras aside.
Oh, and that bit on the font was great! LOL

Saturn
Only whiny people complained about the graphics being less then perfect on that version.

Or the loading screen being useless...or the extra areas being entirely useless...or the allegedly horrible lag...
No, I've never played the Saturn version, but I do know one thing: We've done this topic at the CV Dungeon Forum, nearly to death :P

("To death" does not imply that both sides of the argument were championed by world reknowned SotN players on the debate; we've got some very expert SotN players but a lot of people who classify as other).

My biggest gripe with the Saturn game has to be the controls. For some reason, the control just doesn't feel as tight as it does in the PSX version to me. I'm not sure why. Everything else ""poorer" graphics, extra load time, etc.) doesn't really bother me all that much.
It's still a damned tough call though.

I like the Saturn version. You get to fight Maria before she gives you the glasses and Alucard has three hands to hold things :hmm:

Haven't played the Saturn version, so it would be unfairly biased if I said I favored the PS version. I'd really like to, however, but I got no Saturn. :(

Grr, gotta bump the topic 'cause I wasted my last post.
Here's a couple relevant replies, gloriously dredged from the slow and sometimes unstable ForumPlanet Search system (probably 'cause a thousand people are sending queries and uploading replies at any given time...):

Be warned; they're old, closed, and you need to register to read stuff @ the Forums. Also, you might run into some idiotic post by none other than myself, beware :D
