I'm tweaking our rarity list for the Saturn, none of us seem to OWN these three games that at least one of us claims to have "seen" at some time. Personally I've never seen any of these. May have seen Return Fire but I couldn't swear by it:

Return Fire
Return to Zork
Worldwide Soccer '98

Does anyone own any of these? I contend that they do not exist.

Defy this challenge!

According to www.sega-saturn.com it WAS released in the USA. (or at least Canada).
there's even a review on it:

Return to Zork was released in Japan only, according to the info at Gamefaqs.com. I think we had a discussion about this a few months ago...

Thanks for checking that. The WWS98 review looks legit enough, but I'm always suspicious when there's not a single picture of anything - screen, box, ANYTHING. I also can't tell if he's reviewing Saturn US or Saturn Japan. It's only the US list I'm interested in at the moment.

As for GameFAQs.com, well I love their site but their information isn't really "verified" by anyone. I've found many many errors on their site in the past and really only check there for tips now, not release info.

Kinda leaves me where I was before. I'd prefer to use real information, verified facts, or first-hand proof than a website that may or may not have done that already. So... KEEP HUNTING :)

Thanks, really!

Thanks, ARR! That actually helps a lot.

Although... I've seen box art for games - just off the top of my head: like Thrill Kill (PSX), Rush Hour and Kickman (2600) and there was no game to go along with them :)

Still, good enough for me to keep it on the list... for now! Thank you.

There was a huge debate on Return to Zork here a while back and if it ever saw the light of day in the US. In the end I went to Activision and they never sent me an email back as to if it was or wasn't.

You can read up on the Saturn Zork debate from July here.. http://www.nullunit.com/dpforum/viewtopic.php?t=707&highlight=return+zork

I'm interested in that soccer game. E-mail me and maybe we can work something out.

As for Return Fire, there are people who swear they saw it in discount bins, but so far no one has ever been able to produce one. I'd file it as NR like Buster Bros. Collection.

I would like more information please. I don't want to list anything in our guides that are "speculation". I believe the Soccer game was released but I've seen no proof whatsoever that the other two were. I'm not sure where you got your proof but show it to me so we can agree on this. Thanks!

Since there's already a scan of the front above, here's the back and disc for Worldwide Soccer '98. Mine is brand spankin' new with the Sega "World of Games" flyer, Virtua Fighter Arcade Machine contest flyer and the Get $10.00 Back form. Since I don't buy these sports games unless they're really cheap, I'm guessing I got this from a TRU discount bin for 99 cents with a bunch of other Saturn hockey, baseball and basketball games. Had no idea it was rare. What with Cobi Jones saying, "This is The Best Soccer Game on The Planet" I figured it flew off the shelves ;).

OK I'm definitely convinced about the Soccer '98. Thanks, gang!

Can anyone prove Return Fire or Return to Zork? Speak now or forever hold your peace until tomorrow or so.

i'd bet my entire import saturn collection that there was no saturn zork on u.s. store shelves. return fire i'm 99.9% sure there was never a u.s. saturn release....

I just found this blurb in the Sega Saturn FAQ:

* Return Fire *WAS* released. Some people on USENET claim it wasn't, but this is simply untrue. It has been reportedly seen in a few
bargain bins back in 1998 as well.

I'm still a bit skeptical, I've never seen or heard of anyone I know owning one.

I don't want to list anything in our guides that are "speculation".

I would say list them, but as NR -- that challenges anyone who has them to prove the list wrong. If you didn't list them at all, then people may or may not notice their absence.

As to Return Fire, I have this weird inkling like I've seen it too, but then I think that perhaps I'm getting it confused with Black Fire or some other title...
