Hey i got a Tandy Coco 2 and a coco 3 , ive never used them for anythign other then cartridge games. What can ya do with these? I have the big ass 5 1/4 drive and a cassette tape thing. When they were new to me back in the day i used to use it all the time. If i put a 5 1/4 disk drive in my computer can i put games on it and play them on my Coco?

What can you do with them? Any ting you want.
Technically, yes. There is an emulator by Jeff Vavasour that has a DSKINI command in DOS that takes a virtual DSK file and formats a 5 1/4" disk like it was a CoCo disk and then adds the files to it. I've never tried it (did it in reverse-took 5 1/4" games and put them onto DSK files) but I've heard it works well.
Tape based games work similar-you can use the CASOUT command to translate a CAS file into a WAV file, then just play the file out to a tape deck. This I have tried and this works. Why would you do this? Some games usually require more memory than what the Disk Controller allows as the controller borrows some memory from the CoCo itself or it looks into sections of memory that the controller now uses. Pyramid 2000 is a perfect example of this.
Any other questions, don't hesitate to ask.
