OK, many of you know the legend of the Digital Press Prize Patrol van... it's the slowest van in the world but always reaches its destination. It stops at every strip club and dive bar between our headquarters and your home and I'm happy to announce that it has made its last stop. Prizes from the past few months' "newshound", "alter ego" and "virtual bender" contests are on their way!
Sorry for the delay, but you know how it is. Seeing the underbelly of Americana is what give us our edge :)
PS big contest coming soon. HINT: familiarize yourself with one specific video game. Know it inside and out. Find out something no one else knows about it, and you've got a terrific grand prize heading your way on this very van on its next voyage.

Who won the prizes for the news? I never saw that anyone ever won anything so I figured you weren't awarding prizes and stopped sending in news stories. How do you win at Virtual Bender?

Who won the prizes for the news? I never saw that anyone ever won anything so I figured you weren't awarding prizes and stopped sending in news stories. How do you win at Virtual Bender?
I haven't been announcing the newshound winners publicly, but I can do so if the gang here is interested - just seems that when I do, that post drops off the page like a rock. The last winner was "syzygy" if you still care.
You "win" at virtual bender by showing up and playing the games. We played five different games last Friday at the event that was announced a week prior and stickied to the top of the forums. I don't remember all of the winners off-hand... AdamG, wberdan.... I forget. I was drunk.

Woot, i can't wait to see what surprises I won! Heck, I got my DC and games last yr when I worked at TRU, my parents kept asking me what was in the box anyhow (seeing it was a stereo receivier box).

Its too bad those virtual benders HAVE to be done on Friday and Sat, nights that I WORK. And the PC here is way too sucky to allow me to take part in them anyhow. :angry:
Any chance of doing one another night of the week? :D

And any chance of the van coming to Australia? Failing that, you could put small items in bottles and send them across the ocean. LOL

They don't HAVE to be, you can schedule them any time you want! Granted, turnout seems to be better on a weekend rather than midweek.

Just wondering if the package I'd won in the Christmas avatar contest is going to be delivered soon. I don't have any use for another Genesis so I wanted Joe to send the prize to Querjek (the second place winner) instead.

Joe said that it's in the "To Ship" pile... so it should come sometime.
