How do you know this is a pirated copy?

The real CD has a professional screen of a castle on its face. This is just a blank CD-R. Then he mentions the lack of a back insert? How dubious.

Thatb looks like the "burned" side though. Is it possible he has it inverted to show it's not scratched?

I dunno, I'm still skeptical. I have CD-R media that are 'clear' like that and you can see the burned data rings from either side.

Well that does look like the real cover . At least what we can see of the front and back of it.

I'm guessing it's a good looking scan of the actual cover thrown in a generic CD game case with a burned copy of the CD.

That would explain 3 things:

1- lack of the rear insert.
2- only showing the rear side of the CD? give me a break, the seller would blatantly show the top of the CD if it was legit to show the artwork.
3- the low opening bid.

The first two are iffy, but having a low opening bid on something that is sure to bring in a lot of money is generally a good way to go. First, you save on the insertion fees, and you also entice more bidders to get in on the action.

.

Most people don't have the front and rear of the front cover copied. Usually they just have the front. It's harder to find the rear of the front cover online.
Was that confusing ? :hmm:

Also, most people tend not to put staples in the spine of a one page photocopy. Look closely, they're there.

Why doesn't someone look at a real Super Cd and see if the bottom of the disc has that "burned" look. That circle around the outside of the disc where it looks like the data stopped being burned.
Is that on a real Super CD?

I have seen the end of data on professional discs before where they used less space than was available. Despite all of this I still think the auction is fishy because:

The disc is upsidedown, no effort was made to take a picture of the label art,

The seller is a newbie in the relative sense of 11 feedbacks, ALTHOUGH if you look 3 of those were positive regarding the sale of Japanese imports.

Yea you would think if he payed to add an extra picture he would have added one of the front of the disc.
But it could just be a Newbie mistake. Thinking people would want to see that it's not scratched.
Oh and I have myself sold cd games with the rear insert missing. I bought it that way or the darned thing just up and walked off. LOL

I e-mailed him and this is what i got..

Sorry, I got you now. Here is a picture of the front of
the CD. The picture I used was just to show that the disk
was in good shape and was not intended as a trick!
As it says in the description, apart from the missing back
this product is in good condition.
Thank you for your interest in our auction.
