I don't think my ex-wife was in the Black Market Beanie Trade..but then again, I didn't know she was having an affair either!

I make no claims on value, and to be honest. I am amazed anyine pays more then a dollar a piece for these things. What happened to collecting STAMPS? Pay what you want for them! IT ALL GOES TO HOMEDEPOT !!!!!! and BEER!

I ahve an idea for all people that are so worried about this.....DON't BID! I dont care! I am so upset that this clown of a woman figured out my SUPER PLAN TO SCAM MILLIONS FROM THE UNKNOWING BEANIE WORLD!

That is hilarious. He's quite the salesman. LOL

Shit, ten years ago those things would've gotten him at LEAST $5k. The elephant alone would've gone for $2K!! :eek 2:

Yes, I'm ashamed I know this. :embarrassed:

Yep, he would have made a killing just a few years ago with those. He's got some pretty rare ones listed. Humphrey the Camel is pretty scarce, with or without tag.

I'm probably as ashamed as you are that I know this. :embarrassed:

Well, I don't know a damn thing about beanies either ... but that is one funny auction!! $2K for a beanie!?!?! Man I thought us gamers were bad ... and at least we get to play with our toys :D You wouldn't dare touch a $2K stuffed animal for fear of creasing the precious little tag!

I also liked this from his feedback profile:

Praise : GREAT EBAYER, WOULD RECOMMEND AA +++
Response by thedrunkensailor - Wow! Your right I am a great Ebayer! Praise to me!

Final Notice and Disclaimer: I know nothing about these stuffed Beanie Babies. I offer no proof of anything. It is a stuffed animal, get over it! I don't think my ex-wife was in the Black Market Beanie Trade..but then again, I didn't know she was having an affair either! Thus no gauruntees! All have theior little Heart Shaped tags on their ears.

That was halarious! Look at how may people have looked at the auction! (269,317!!!) Holy crap! Thanks for posting this topic, it made my day also. :)

Ya know, that's the "true" meaning of eBay right there. He sold something he didn't care about, someone got a good deal on something they wanted, and everyone else had a good laugh. It's great to see an auction like that every now and then when most of the other people I see on there are just Dollar store raiders now.

That woman is so stupid! She tells him they are possibly fake, then places a bid anyway? WTF If he knew or not, she still bid!! Then to bid and get blocked, then bid with another name too, that's ultra crazy! Buyer beware is what the say. She has taken this pretty far with all the places she has reprted him to. I bet he'll have to give some sort of refund or spend 10x that on lawer fees. She should have just stayed away from this auction after his response alone.

I have to agree. Is every person who sells on ebay going to be required to validate every collectible piece they sell? I can understand that if I sold an Atari Heavy Sixer on ebay and guaranteed it was authentic and I was wrong, then I owe someone a refund. However, if I put an ad in ebay which says "Atari 2600 in good condition" I shouldn't owe anyone anything.

This woman really has an axe to grind and apparently has nothing else to do with her life.

Perhaps she's on a beanie baby piracy crusade? x_x

Okay, so he lied. The story was still as funny as all hell.

Seriously, if she asks a questions, and then doubts its authenticity, why bid?

Someone needs to smack that stupid bitter old lady....

I bought some anime DVDs on eBay and when they finally arrived, they were all boot leg shit! I was stuck with them since I used BidPay to pay for my wins. Didn't know if the CC companies would reverse a charge on a cash advance, so I ate the $200 loss. All were listed like they were originals, but they were far from it. In hind sight... I should have thought something was up. :embarrassed: I still have them today and man are they bad!! The dubbs are so full of errors and sometimes don't match the action or they are not there all together. LOL

This lady just made this guy a freaking hundredaire.

For as much hell as she caused, this guy rakes in $175 on his first liquid asset auction? And now he is selling clothes?

Either that or this whole lawsuit is a lie too....

Anyway, I personally think eBay should be buyer beware.

If it doesn't have a picture (or uses a stock photo), don't buy it.
If you have any questions, ask BEFORE bidding.
If the seller doesn't answer your questions, don't buy it!

"Well, they looked fake and I told him he shouldn't sell them but I bought them anyway without verifying their authenticity" is just plain DUMB.

The buyer should make the effort to research what they are buying before hurriedly clicking that shiny bid button.

Now if the seller outright LIES, then thats a different story...

She said that when he blocked her from bidding she ended up bidding on the item under her other account. Hasn't SHE broken ebay rules by having multiple accounts? I thought that this wasn't allowed.

Actually, hasn't SHE broken ebay rules by having multiple accounts? I thought that this wasn't allowed.

If that's true than I'm guilty of that too. I used to have just one account to buy and sell with, but now I buy with one and only sell with the other (original ID) for the most part.

You can have multiple accounts. You just can't bid on the items in your other account and vice versa. I have 2.

Griking
11-05-2003, 10:17 PM
Multiple accounts ARE legal?

Wow, that just seems to invite abuse.

Why would a person really need multiple accounts? I can only think of reasons why people shouldn't have multiple accounts (shilling, avoid suspensions, joke bids, etc...)
