I've, uh, heard of Kiss. And a few of the punk bands, since my girlfriend loves punk and ska. I don't listen to hip-hop except at gunpoint. Do all the modern artists on this list get played on MTV (which I don't watch) or the radio (which I don't listen to)?

Yet another reason to love Vice City: the awesome '80s soundtrack. Back when music had melodies and singing and stuff!

Only rappers on the entire list that I have ever seen on MTV are the Jurassic 5 and Nas. A majority of the rock and punk bands never have been and probably never will be on MTV either. But I'm not trying to sway your opinion, I'm sure you're happy with your raspy TR909 music. ~_^

For those with open minds, I recommend checking out the DJ QBert, Quasimoto, and Deltron 3030 songs. Also, Liam Lynch's "United States of Whatever" is used in one of the THUG commercials so it might be on the soundtrack....great song.

Everyone go download "new noise" by refused. This band was way ahead of its time. This song actually came out about 6 years ago, but it is definitly solid. I highly reccommend it.

In flames is also a kick ass band, but i havent heard that song before.
Too bad there isnt any iron maiden like there was in THPS4....
GO MAIDEN!!!!!!

I'm amazed at the sheer number of songs in the game. The rock selections didn't impress me too much, but the hip-hop and punk tunes are great. But just where the heck is Husker Du and The Replacements? C'mon, people!

For my money, the original Tony Hawk had the best soundtrack, although TH2 comes very close.

As long as I can turn of the KISS tunes, it looks good to me.

Superjoint Ritual rocks ass, Fu Manchu as well, Queens of the Stone Age are cool, and it's nice to see that Sublime is still getting some play.

Isn't the DJ Qbert song on Amplitude or FreQuency?

Eh, there is a lot of crap on it...but with Stiff Little Fingers, the Clash, Social Distortion, and GBH on it, I am happy and a bit shocked at the same time. I just wish that they would pick better newer bands ...

Wow. Hm. Ya know, I spent the last three years writing for a rock/metal webzine, and I've heard of 2/3 of the rock bands at best, maybe 1/2 the punk bands (at best), and the same two rappers someone else mentioned, Nas and Jurassic 5.

A lot of those seem pretty obscure, but I'm sure I'll get used to them. When my wife and I saw Fu Manchu live they kicked into Evil Eye and my wife goes, "it's the Tony Hawk song!!!"
