Guncon 2 on a PC?

I just got a Guncon 2 (a black one, cause I live in Korea. Yay!) for Time Crisis II on the PS2. It's fine and dandy, but the question lingers . . .

Is there any way to get this thing to work on a PC? with MAME? I've plugged it in and hooked it up but Windows XP just goes "um, duh."

Any hints or suggestions would be welcome, but I'm turning up nothing in my google searches for "guncon 2" and mame.
