I recently purchased a Dreamcast.
My Dreamcast came with an RF switch. I saw A/V cables, used, and a 3rd party cheapo S-VID cables, but does it accept Component Video cables? Not sure what to pick up.
Any difference in early and late models of this? I think I might have read something here before. Mine is pretty immaculate looking for a used unit, so it might be a newer one.

No component cable support sadly, but hook that baby up to a PC monitor with a VGA box....heaven. S-video is as good as you will get with a standard TV.

Explain this VGA box idea. Is this some converter to play video game systems on a PC monitor?

Yeah, I have the 3rd party S-video hookups....they work pretty well on a nice TV :)

i forgot to add, i have madcatz S-vid plugs....hooked it up and i have yet to play even a single game on it......so.....go figure. but if you have s-vid jacks and can get an S-vid cord for your dreamcast then definitly use it. i've never heard anything bad LOL

S-video is great when it works. I bought a set and it is already craping out on me. Like you said,3rd party cheapo s-video cables. I have to play the wiggle game everytime I use the system. Anybody know of a quality set of s-video for the dreamcast?? I am going to have to re-buy a new set and don't want this to happen again.
