Here's the problem:

I bought some games from GS two weeks back. I paid using a debit card. When the cashier first tried, it seemed to get stuck dialing to the network. He ran my card again and everything went fine. I got my bank statement today, and I was charged twice.

I am going back to Ohio from my parents house in a few mintues and I am gonna stop by the GS with the bank statement. I don't believe I still have the receipt., It shouldn't be a problem for me to get my money back as credit, correct?

I used to work retail and it wasn't a problem, so I assume it wouldn't be, just wanted to ask.

If it is, should I contact their higher-ups?

You might want to go ahead and dispute the charge with your bank just in case. If they credit it back, you can always cancel the dispute.

I'd say disputing the charge with your bank is usually the first way to do these things, but if it's a store you can visit then I'd do that first.

I don't think it would be a problem. Take the bank statement with you and if you can (this will make it easier) Try:

1) Going when the employee that wrang you up is there. Or tell the manager what they looked like. Since it was within 2 weeks and the transaction was wonky, chances are the employee will remember and be able to verify your problem.

2) Try to remember what register you were wrang up on, what day you were in, what time of day you were there, and what you bought on that transaction. They should be able to find the reciept on the computer (they go back 3 months) or find the hard copy from your debit card reciept that should be in the store.

If they do have a problem, then yes, call the higher ups.

I've had it happen quite often.
Just call your bank and they'll take it off for you.
They will notice it is 2 of the same charges within minutes and they'll handle it.

I would think Management would be able to do something about it. I think I've done something similar myself.

Theres only one real thing that you can do:
Go to your local hardware store and buy some black chrome spraypaint. Then go to the mall. Before heading to gamestop, head to the KB toys in the mall, or some other toy store. Buy a toy gun, assult riffle preferably. Then head to an empty bathroom, or maybe a "emloyees only" stairwell of the mall and start spraying the thing black. After it dries, tuck it into your coat and head to gamestop. One the way, buy 5 readbulls at the local skate store (zumiez, pac-sun, hot topic) and drink them all. This will be needed. Then enter gamestop. Browse a little bit, and then whip out the gun. Take the employees hostage, particularly targeting the fool who overcharged you. After this, let the other customers go and instruct the employees to drop the automatic fence infront of the store. After everything is secure, escort the employees back to the backroom. There, tie them up to chairs with many layers of duck tape around the ankles and wists, leaving there hands somewhat free, but still confined. They will need them. There will surley be a TV in the back room. Set up both a Gamecube and PS2 to it. In the gamecube, put in "Aquaman". In the Ps2, put in "Batman:Rise of the Sin Zsu". Force the emplyees to play these games for hours on end by gunpoint. After the SWAT team arrives, force the negotiator to call you on an Ngage. Bait him by telling him that you have to get back to playing Sonic N and Tombraider. After some hours of time, escape into the ventalation shaft, (after stealling your money back, of coarse), and leave a trail of the newest PS2 tomb raider title behind you as you crawl through the vent. Trust me, no one would follow you through the steaming pile of pure shit that you left in your wake. After you make your grand escape, head to taco bell, buy the biggest meal there is with mexi-nuggets and mountain dew, and have one of your "sexy parties".

Anyways......thats what I would do.

:duh: x_x :hmm: -_- :/

Either way will work. You're probably better off contacting your bank though. They'll see it as a double charge, and just credit it back no problem, instantly

You can also go to the store and they will credit the card too, only it takes a few days to process.
