That's a funky beta cart! O_O

Sounds nice, but I don't think it's worth the $150 he wants for it.

Not to mention that its a sports cart. :bareass:

I wouldn't pay more than $15-$20 for a sports game even if it is a proto.

I would bet that it could go for $150, since N64 protos are WAY harder to find than NES/SNES protos. Plus it is a freaking good game!

Thats ok if you don't think its worth it.

I only need to find one person who does.

N64 protos are fairly tough to find. In the Nintendo family of protos only Virtual Boy protos are a tougher find. Sports title or not you won't be finding many for $20.00 or $100.00 or even $200.00 because there simply aren't many to be found.... not at any price.

I do agree with you about owning a sports game though. Thats why I'm the seller and not the buyer ;)

Oops, did'nt notice that YOU were the seller. My bad! :embarrassed:

Any clue as to why the cart is so radical shaped? :)

You're right about N64 protos being rare, so I don't honestly know if $150 is fair or not. I just think being a sports game will bring it down. Plus, how many people are accepting that it's a proto without external proof? :)

Personally I'd say $150 is on the high side for a sports game but well within what one might call "going rate" for an N64 proto these days. They really are quite rare. Since N64 protos were reuseable there are fewer protos exisiting than of the other systems. They weren't cheap either. I was told they cost companies around $500.00 each so many companies kept tabs on their prototypes and made sure they got them back after reviews.

From the picture you should be able to tell that at least the casing is authentic. Well I suppose I could have gutted it and placed a released ROM inside. 1st of all I'd never do something like that, thats too much work ;) and 2nd of all if I did something like that no one would ever buy a prototype from me again thats for sure.

I've sold and traded a few protos both on the message boards and on ebay. So far everyone has taken my word that it is indeed a proto by the outside picture alone.

I really hate messing around with the insides. I have a few 2600 protos I opened up and I still havent been able to get them back together (COKE WINS for example). I'm not really a tech savvy kinda guy but I know the circuit boards shouldn't be handled very much anyways. However, if someone was serious about bidding but insisted on seeing the board first I'd go and do it.

Right now I don't even have the right screwdriver so, hopefully it won't come to that. LOL
