What's a good price for a 2600 system plus a few common games? What about a 7800 w/games?

A 2600 with a few common games might be worth $20. A 7800 with a few common games might be worth $25-$30. It really depends on the games.

Completely off topic but "I'm in a rush when the bus takes a long time..." name that tune. Hint: your pic.

The Boy With the Arab Strap :) Glad to see there's another B&S fan on the board. Now, can you figure out what band's song my board name comes from?

Anyway, I'm interested in buying either a 2600 or 7800 and a few common games like Defender, Breakout, etc. and was just trying to figure out what I can expect to pay.

Good work Captain Wrong. Although thanks to search engines, questions like that can be solved much more easlily :) So I think I'm in the market for a woodgrain 2600. I'm also interested in a few common games like:

Defender
Combat
Pac Man
Breakout
River Raid
Pong

...plus any other commons anyone has that they would like to include. Is $20 about right you think for all that? And, is there anyone on the board that can hook me up for cheaper than $20?

Aw, I didn't read this in time to answer the easy TMBG question :D
I think you might be looking at a little more than $20 dollars for the system you are looking for especially mail order or ebay. If you find it in a thrift or flea you might get it for around $20. But you are asking for a complete system (power supply, switchbox/adapter), a woodgrain which are a little bit more than Jr's, a few common games and 2 joysticks and a good set of paddles to play Breakout+Pong.

It's probably not more than $25 or $30 for a nice complete system but $20 would be the minimum and might be hard to find at that price. Unfortunately for you I had a setup just like that that I traded away this weekend, I included about a dozen good titles so I estimated the value between $25-$35.

Thanks oesiiii, I'm just trying to get a handle on what exactly is the "going rate," so to speak for what I'd like to have. Again, if anyone has this setup and wants to make me a deal, let me know; I'm willing to haggle a little.

I can sell you a system with those games, 2 joysticks and everything you need to hook it up to a TV.

$35 including shipping

I have a bunch of paddle controllers, but I'll have to check if I have some that aren't jittery.

Email me if you want it: metalkeir@yahoo.com

John, I checked and I have an extra pair of paddles that's so smooth you'll think they're brand new.

BTW, there's actually no "Pong" for the 2600. The closest thing is "Video Olympics", which I have a couple of. Sears also released "Pong Sports" which is exactly the same game as Atari's "Video Olympics". That one's a little harder to find (though it's still common).
