Genesis carts used in PAL releases?

hi there

i'm totally not into Genny/MD collecting, but out of my 6 pal mega drive games i own complete, 2 have carts in it saying it's a genesis cart (Fifa soccer 95, rolo to the rescue), what's up with that? did i get the wrong carts with the games? or did they really use US carts in PAL releases??????? they work in my pak Mega Drive 2...

It's just EA being lazy and using the same carts in the US & Europe. Most just say 'For play on the Sega Genesis system', while later ones say 'For play on the Sega Genesis or Megadrive systems'. (The boxes/manuals are different though.)
I've got 2 EA games that just say 'For use on the Sega Megadrive system', EA Sports Double Header (which is PAL only), and Zool.
As far as I know, all EA carts are universal.

U.S. Gold and Domark also did the same in the U.S. (Genesis carts labeled as MD, for play on both).
