Hi everyone. Just got back from deployment overseas for the past 8 months. Certainly missed not having access to the internet and getting to visit here. Hope everyone is well.

Sine I have gotten back I have decided that I need to make a few changes around the house. I have a 10'x14' shed that has currently 10 arcade games and 2 pinball machines in it. I have realized I rarely play some of these games and am keeping them for the 'cool' factor so I think a few are going to go. Here's the list:

Pinballs:
Black Knight
Comet

Video:
Gauntlet
Donkey Kong
Elevator Action
Galaga
Gaplus
Qbert
Gyruss
Asteroids Deluxe
Tempest
Joust.

I can keep 5 video and 1 pinball based on the area I want to keep my games. I'm pretty well decided to keep Qbert, Joust, Galaga, Tempest and Asteroids Deluxe. My question is: What pinball would you keep? Both work fine (or did when I left). Probably need to clean some switches if anything. Why would you keep it? Help me make up my mind :) Any inputs on the videos is welcome also though I have reasons for keeping the ones I mentioned.
Thanks,
Alan

I'm a big Asteroids fan, but I'm a little surprised you'd choose Asteroids Deluxe over the Donkey Kong or Gauntlet.

As far as the pinball, I have no opinion. I've never really enjoyed pinball.

Ah, Gyruss...classic Konami spaceship goodness.

Keep the Black Knight. That's one of the coolest pins ever made.

And if you want to sell that Gauntlet, I'll give it a nice home in my gameroom!!

Well the Gauntlet I have played to death as well as have all my friends and it is a fairly rough machine. Painted over side art, etc. As I recall it was convert to some football game (High Impact?) and I swapped it back. The Asteroids is purty plus it is new to me and a game I still enjoy playing often. Also there is that just too cool black light background in it :)

I am seriously leaning towards the Black Knight. Sure I can sell the Comet easily as it is in pretty nice shape considering its history.

As I said at AA, thou shalt not part with a vector cab.

Hmmm.. I may have played Comet. Is it a circa 1980 pin with lots of classic Williams sound effects?

Anyway, Black Knight is a COOL table, and I LOVE that music!!

I'd most certainly hang on to Gaplus. Any chance you can stretch the rules a bit and keep 6 machines? If 5 is the limit, I'd maybe let Q*Bert go in favor of keeping Gaplus.

I admit if there was one I could keep extra it would be that one. I love Gaplus. Unfortunately I have a higher calling on the Qbert. I restored that machine solely for the wife to have. You can see the restoration pages at http://aland.roarvgm.com/qbert.html Besides it is by far my prettiest machine. The two vectors I really enjoy playing so I wanted to keep those. Joust and Galaga are ones everyone knows and loves so I'll keep them around also. I do have 3 more that are in the other shed but I use them for tables quite often so no lost space there - cocktail Ms. Pac/Pac (selectable), cocktail DK jr and a cocktail Crazy Climber which is just about my favorite of all time.

Thanks for the compliment on it. It was the first total restoration I did and I am pretty proud of it.

I think I am going to end up keeping the Black Knight. I went and played both and that one seems more fun to me plus I love the Magna-Save :)

Hi Joe,
Would have done my best to be at the meeting this past weekend except for the wife would have threatened to kill me if my first weekend back wasn't spent with her :) I'll definitely have to try and make it to the next one.
