Okay, here's a mystery for you - actually something I've been meaning to ask about for ages, but never got around to it. When I try to fire up Looping in MAME, I get the following:

looper_7.bin NOT FOUND
looper_6.bin NOT FOUND

...but last time I checked, Looper was a completely different game, as opposed to a Japanese original/variant that had one or two BINs that I'd need.

Anyone else run into this? How'd you fix it?

Hmm, thats odd. What version of Mame are you using? This doesn't happen on this end with Mame v0.76. Could be an error in the code in the version you are using.

I'm on .76, as a matter of fact. :o I'm baffled to say the least.

Has the ROM set been updated?

I don't think it has been updated, but I could be wrong. So many little updates happen with every new release. I can send my rom over to you again and you can try that. Are you using an official v0.76 build? It's just so odd that it would be looking for romfiles from an entirely different game.

Update: finally got it working, but only with DMAME. I'd forgotten that I even had it, and tried it on a whim. ???? x_x

This is what I use:

Give it a try. I have never had a problem with it, and it gets updated almost immediately after an official Mame release. The same pretty much goes for the official Mame32, although there are some options I like better in Mame32 Plus:

Either one of these shouldn't give you any problems regarding looping.
