For North American releases, try Gamespot.

393 Gamecube games? A lot more than I thought :)

Me too. I was halfway thinking of collecting a full GC collection if the GC went belly-up soon, but that's too many.
I think the absolute max modern system library for a "sane" :) person to
collect would be a 250ish one like the Saturn or Dreamcast. Of course to
Joe and the others, 250 might seem too wimpy to even be a fun challenge.

300-something is definitely do-able, once the prices for most of them drop to ~$10 in a couple of years. Of course, it'll end up being more than 300 by the end of the GameCube's run, and whether all of them are worth collecting is another question...

Umm,.... it's more than 300 now (393 according to Syllentwulf's post).
Did you mean to say 400? And even 300 at average $10 each is a
$3000 hobby

If you look at the list you'll see that a lot of those 393 are 'announced' games rather than released games.

thats not when u look at it, those $3,000 is how much u would pay for like 5 aes games

I was working on one a while ago, but I've been so busy with school I haven't really been able to update. I was mostly doing mine through magazines and stuff though... when I stopped I was only at about 150 or so.

I also started a GBA one, but it's a little too much for me right now too...

On a fairly related not, does anyone have a complete genesis collection, if so do they have pics. :)

Im a wimp though, and am not going to try all complete. ;)

Joe I think did complete his collection,(he only needed 1 oe 2 games), game cube at 393 isn't that surprising considering that PS2 is at 582 I believe, nothing beat the mosnsterus PS1 though with it's roughly 1400+ and counting

Slipdeath

actually about 1304+, anyone know how much xbox has?

BTW which US GC games are the rarest? I'm asking since this may be the last real gamer's system, there's a possibility of collecting this for me.

The 'rarest' I can think of is Cubivore. Nothing else really strikes me as that interesting.

It's hard to find, but not impossible. QoF and I ran into a couple of complete copies back in May randomly. I believe that Sega NCAA Basketball game is probably the hardest to find in general...

Not rare and not very hard to find but going by sales numbers alone, Super bubble pop.

I dont have the latest numbers but I do have the june NPD spread sheet and according to that, from its december 2002 release to june 2003, the gamecube version only managed to sell 386 copies or so (have to check the exact nubers when I get home). The Xbox version didnt do much better with only slightly over 400 copies sold. Of course it migth have sold more by now but I doubt it's that much.

Cubivore sold some 8000 copies and I think the Sega basketball game did about 3000 copies btw.

Ok, here are the accurate but somewhat out of date numbers.

Super bubble pop: 318 (Xbox version: 436)
Cubivore: 8527
NCAA Basketball 2k3: 4868

Yep, it sure is still out in stores. Gamestop probably forgot to upgrade the website.

PSX is actually at 1320 (give or take a couple) incl. Lightspan by my count, 1260 minus Lightspan. In any case, far and away more than any other system.
