Help! *me rubs brain*

Ok so I finally decided to get an emulator and I went to zektors help topic and got Mame32 and have it up and running and I went to http://www.videogamearchive.com/emu/mame_rom.htm and downloaded the jrpacman.zip file and moved it into my ROMs file in my Mame directory.

Not working, it says the roms are missing. I moved the whole zip file in there, and even tried extracting to it. I hit f5 to refresh it, still nothing. Obviously I'm doing something wrong, can anyone tell me what?

Did you goto Options, Directories and specify where the roms are located? You have to point it in the right direction.

The zip goes in the Roms folder in your Mame directory. If it says the roms are missing (or some are missing) you probably have an old set. When they update Mame sometimes the roms get changed due to the fact that the old ones were incorrectly dumped or sometimes some of the roms weren't dumped and were recently added. Also, sometimes roms need a parent set to work. This is not the case with Jr Pacman however, so if you need me to send you the correct romfile for the latest Mame version I can do that for you. Just PM me an email addy.

Hmm, although I have had some people say that the roms we have for download weren't compatible with the current Mame, it looks like jrpacman is. I just downloaded it from this site and cross checked the crcs with the one that I have and they are exactly the same. Are you sure you are placing the rom in the correct place? As long as you place it ZIPPED in the roms folder under Mame you should be able to load it fine.

Thanks guys, I got it to work....once I got pissed off and shut the program down and restarted it completely, it began recognizing the ROMs :D

I hate when programs do that.
