View Full Version : Mid-south area roll call (Okla./Kansas/Ark./Missouri)

And hey, Texas is okay too. LOL
In anticipation of the new house and game room, I'm trying to gauge interest in something along the lines of Joe's NJ Classic for this area. I'll be centrally located in the middle of nowhere (just kidding!), easily accessible from western or northern Arkansas, southwest Missouri, eastern Oklahoma, and southeast Kansas.
This isn't an announcement yet, and I'm not looking at any kind of "expo," just an informal gathering. Shoot the breeze, show and play and trade, and maybe see some things you haven't seen before. Like Iago, the cat who plays Asteroids. (I might be able to get a keynote out of the little guy if anyone can bring some cat treats.)

I'd be up for that, even with the fact I'm new here and am not the most out going person. :) I live in North Kansas City so it'd only take 4 hours or so for me!
I really wanted to go to that show a few months ago but had family plans that had to come first.

I'm in St. Louis, which might be a kinda far away, but I might be able to show up for something like that. :) It'd be a good excuse for a road trip!

This goes without saying but I'll say it anyway - I'll be there! Just give me a when and tell me what I need to bring and I'm all over it. Then again, your new digs is only what.. 40 mins south of me? :)

Yeah, this'd be a lot easier than your trip to Fort Smith - it's really just a very short hop from where 540 north meets I-40. Sad thing is, there's lot of yard sales in that rural vicinity, the thrifting would probably be better than the Fort Smith excursion too. LOL Not that this would take much!
Anyone else? We got some good Kickman lovin' on tap...

Heya. I just discovered this forum, sorry for the tardiness.
You know I'm in. I've got lots of toys and a minivan. Wow, that makes me sound like a molester.

Sounds great, but when?
And, how about some linked systems, for multi-player games?
X-Box: Halo,....others?
Jaguar: Battlesphere, Aircars, Doom
Lynx: Slimeworld, Warbirds, Gauntlet...and many others!
GBA: Any suggestions?
Playstation: Wipeout (or is it XL?), Doom

At the time I wrote this several months ago, and still at this point, I was really just trying to gauge interest. I don't even have a date or specific time of year in mind, and the house is a work-in-progress at the moment. So it'd be later this year, quite a bit later (probably post-CGE), before this happens, if it happens. It's good to see that there's some interest though. If things shift into a more definite gear, I'll let everyone know.

I say once you get your room all done, you call it a housewarming party! That should get the wife on board! Although she may get a little suspicious when people show up with joysticks and laundry baskets full of games instead of towels and fruit baskets ...

Phosphor Dot Fossils,
Post CGE sounds great, but hopefull not late November, or December. It may be hard for everyone to get together during the holiday season.
Maybe someone will bring something back with them from CGE to show off!
:D
As for multi-player fun, I could bring a 4-player battle game for the Dreamcast that will give you a "rush"
8-)

Hey Cobbweb! Weatherford is just one of three colleges I attended that I didn't graduate from! :) In fact, I couldn't even get a job in town. I ended up working at Long John Silver's in Clinton while I went to school.

Bump!
If you're in Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansasa, or Kansas and would be interesting in getting together for a little gaming/trading in central Oklahoma this spring, we want to hear from you!

North Dallas checking in here, but I'm not opposed to a little driving! Also, I'm at pretty much every Super Auction held in Mesquite, so if anybody wanted to do something around auction time, I'm sure we could work something out!

Ya, but I didn't think anyone would want to drive 12 hours to come play Pac-Man with us. Anyone else?

Hey Flack...
Out of curiosity, how many people are in our neck of the woods?

Well, when are you looking at? Do you have a ballpark date/month?

Late March'ish.
As far as numbers go ... I don't know if there aren't many Okies, or if this forum just doesn't get much traffic, but so far response has been pretty unimpressive.

I'm not sure how I missed this thread for so long ;) I here in OKC. I'd be willing to meet up. If it's here in the metro, I could bring a ton of stuff :)

Icbrkr's current thread finally gave me a reason to come into the events forum.
When & if this does happen I will try to make it. I will need a few weeks notice so that I can arrange for my kids to be with their grandparents.
I'm in Fayetteville so it would be a short hop for me.
