I'm poking around at http://dana.ucc.nau.edu/~dbt/progdoc/VBProg.html and wondering...

has anyone here taken a crack at VB coding?

Yes. I know that there are a few VB home brew programs out there, but they are real simple ones. One is a Pong game, and I think there is a Simon-type game and a tic-tac-toe one too. There are a couple more ambitious VB projects being worked on right now though. One is called Mario VB (I think) and there is a Silent Hill text adventure games that looks VERY COOL, but I think the screen shot I've seen may have been a mock-up.

DogP is the man to talk to about VB coding. I know he stops in here once in a while, so hopefully he'll see this thread and fill us in.

Yeah... I have a rom of the pong but havent' been able to get it to work with Reality Boy. Any idea where I could get some actual game roms to disassemble and poke at?

I programmed a copy of Telesys' The Impossible Game in VB. It can be found at:

Leonard, this thread is about Virtual Boy programming. I'm guessing that exe was compiled with Visual Basic... :)

Whoops, I feel like an idiot. I thought the topic was about Visual Basic, not Virtual Boy.

How do you feel about the double post?

Now to threadjack even further, apparently Waba released a VM for the GBA, so now I'm writing Java for my Gameboy! Java rocks!

We now return you to your regularly scheduled Virtual Boy post.

That doesn't bother me because that was the problem with the computer.

Thanks! I have some more in the works!

WOAH! I wish my school tought me how to program Virtual Boy :D . Anyway, Yeah, I program Virtual Boy stuff all the time... I've got a bunch of stuff on my site ( http://projectvb.vze.com ), and I'm actually programming a Gameboy emulator for the VB as I type this message :) . If you're ever on IRC, drop in #virtualboy on EFNet, I'm in there all the time, and there's usually a few others... and we might be able to hook you up with a better c compiler than vecc *hint hint* ;) .

Not Visual Basic, Virtual Boy.

I haven't been on IRC since about 1995... I'm not to the point yet where I have anything to compile, I'm still reviewing the processor specs and such. I've got some ideas but very little time to actually put in on them for the time being, so it will be VERY slow research for me.
