Presumably this if from the new Arcadia magazine (which was supposed to come out today or tomorrow or something), as they had something on 2k3.

I'm all about Tizoc.

KOF has been pretty stale since 97, but the engine is still good. Supposedly the new one is going to have some major changes to the gameplay, though, so that should be intereting to see.

I never thought I'd see the day when Terry's design from Mark of the Wolves would make it into KoF! This rocks! Speaking of "rocks," I wonder if Rock Howard will ever be in a KoF game. That would be a dream. :D

Yeah, old school Terry. Not having the Hat pisses me off, even though they did it back in the days of the real SNK (I guess it was just their way of bringing the Fatal Fury series to a close...though MotW's Japanese name was virtually the same as before, which was Garou Densetsu).

...figures Sotenga would steal that link I posted (well, close enough anyways). Bandwidth stealer!

Sweet! KoF is one of my favorite fighting series. And Terry is my favorite character. I like the MotW look and all, but you can't beat the red vest and hat combo. I was that Terry for Halloween a few years back. :D

And I never said I liked Terry's new style better than his old. I didn't even recognize him at first without the hat! I just thought it was kinds interesting that they finally incorporated his new style into KoF.

Yeah, bringing Terry into KoF was certainly alright, though I wish a couple FF series folks would join him (Blue Mary's alright, I s'pose, needs to join up). You can forget half of those wierdos from the Real Bout Fatal Fury games, though... Cho-jinn (once again, something like that) and Chonrei are quite definitely not my favorites.

Terry is probably my favorite FF character, my other two absolute faves being Geese and Yamazaki. Oh, and Mai is a given. ;)

I also like Billy, Duck, and Rock. Duck King in KoF... that's would be interesting.

Duk Keng = teh hillariou.

Yamazaki's too strange, at least in the couple games I've played as him in. Rather stiff, and a bastard too. But eh, I suppose I'll get used to him.

Eh, whatever. The design. Oddly, I guess I haven't been thinking about him in KoF since you've got other fighters like Athena and Leona to gaw...er, play as :)

It was outright blashphemy to exclude King from KoF 2002. But bringing back the excellent KoF 97 Special team of Yamazaki, Mary, and Billy sorta made up for that. But no King. It's just not the same... :(

I hope KOF '03 answers some of the questions raised by Garou: Mark of the Wolves. What happened to Andy and Mai? Is Hotokumaru their son?
I think it'd be amusing if Rock Howard were introduced to the game as a youngster, and Bao aged a few years, becoming a lot more intimidating in the process.

This thread has a supposedly accurate translation of Joe, Terry, and Tizoc/griffon talking. It mentions Andy....

Griffon: Not bird. I'm Griffon Mask.

Terry sipped his coffee.

Terry: Yep. Remember Andy's young apprentice?

Joe: Apprentice? Oh, that something something-maru kid.

Terry: He got sick.

Joe: .........

The illness didn't affect Hokotomaru's life too much, but to Andy it was a far more complicated
matter. Due to this, Andy didn't want to leave Japan at all.

Joe: Dang. For being a sensei, he's gotten too soft.

Terry: Don't talk like that. You wouldn't believe how hard Andy pushes him. Japanese people call
that... er... was it "Koshi-Kondo" or something?

Griffon: Koshi-kondou. A word that describes a beautiful relationship between the master and the
apprentice. Your brother must be a great person.

Terry and Griffon shook a hand together nicely.

I guess this also explains why Andy just can't seem to make the Capcom crossover games. Aint easy being a ninja master 8-)

You know that half (if not...all) the reason I say that is 'cuz she's a classic hottie. :P

Benimaru is decent, I suppose, but I thought they had that character covered with Iori (i.e. that sort of look).

King could use some changes in fighting style, even I with my approximately 2 seconds of KoF in MAME (don't have any carts yet) can tell you that. Still, how much I can't say. Games seem unbalanced no matter how hard I try LOL

Now, pardon my stupidity, but where does Griffon Mask come from? In the wrestling world, this would be an easy setup for GM to actually -be- Andy for some reason or another.

LOL..i never thought of that. I can picture it....Terry's about to win the KoF tourney for his team when -BAM- chairshot to the back of the head! Griffon pulls the Mask off and....it's Andy!

Gosh, it's the first King of Fighters in years that might actually shake up the status quo instead of just tweaking it.

My hopes for KoF 2003:
Freeman
Khushnood Butt
Hotaru Futaba
Lenny Creston
Roddy Birts
Eiji Kisaragi

I may be in the minority, but I always thought Terry Bogard's original outfit was just as goofy as his win quotes. A baseball cap, jeans, and a vest with a big star on the back? Why not call him "Special Lucky Hero of American who fights for big justice in all of U.S.A"?

SNKP, please include Khushnood Butt in the next game. Kain R. Heinlein would also be very cool. In fact, I have a concept for a team that probably won't come to pass because it would be too cheap. But imagine a NESTS boss team consisting of Krizalid, Zero, and Igniz! :evil laugh:

EDIT: EIJI! EIJI! EIJI! Dammit! Why has he only been in AoF2 and KoF 95?!? :bawling:

Mai's in Chaos, but Andy's once again a no show. Here's to hoping that he'll be a secret character in the PS2 version....

I'd like to see someone from Kizuna encounter...however unlikely...how bout Michael Maxx? 8-)
