For all those who are needing to feel better about getting riped or mislead on ebay at one time I have finally joined the club as my recent transaction

I was very interested in the "Sega Nomad" gaming system and I finally decided to seriously try and find a good one,I searched ebay for a few days
and found a auction I liked "A Sega Nomad with 65 games and accessory's" well I ended up winning the aution for 126 dollars and ended up sending the money order off a few days later for 142 with shipping and all.Well I got it last Saturday and I openeded it to find"ALL THE FREAKING 65 GAMES WERE SPORTS GAMES[/b},SOME VERY CRAPPY AT THAT",well in the aution he listed about 4 games.all sports games and he failed to mention the rest,my stupid ass was giving him the benifit of the doubt thinking 65 games was to many to lis, boy was I nieve to say the least......

To make it clear,I wasnt expecting to get Shiining Force or any other rare games,.but some of the Sonics and some other decent games at least.I was highly pissed to say the least and I went to a local video game store where most of the games were worth 0.01 cents or nothing at all.I knew it was partially my fault for belieivng something to good to be true.I mean "ALL FREAKING SPORTS GAMES"The fishy thing that all these games were wrapped up in plastic,he obviously knew they sucked hard when he bought them at an aution and felt raped himself and passed the demon onto me,thanks alot buddy

I dont know if I should try and resell some of the games and I still have which is about 40,I ended up selling like 15 games for one game "Columns" at Gamestop.

My question to yall is should I pass this demon on for the love of the dollar, keep it or just detroy it and the disapointment the package of games has caused people over the years?????

Here is the aution link

Some of these were at hollywood video(thats what theat packaging reminds me of) for 10 cents each. when whey were getting rid of them.

Hey, you live and learn. You weren't "taken" that badly. This is actually a minor thing.

I think leaving him negative feedback was pretty harsh. Your expectations werent met, but I couldnt find any outright lies in the auction. You really ought to follow up that feedback and say something to the effect of "this should be a neutral feedback, did not list all the games because they were all crappy sports titles." To be completely honest, you are partly the reason people dont like zero feedback bidders to win their auctions (mostly referring to the quick negative feedback). Weeding out these types of sellers is just something that comes with experience. One of the first auctions I won was a lot for 50 or so "mostly complete" games and a boxed NES. Well, a lot were missing the manuals, they were nearly all in terrible ex rental condition, and the NES and its box were the dirtiest things I have seen. Just learn something from this auction, and pretty soon you'll be able to pass these auctions up at a glance (or only bid what they're really worth).

Well I agree completely with you and I was going to leave neutral feedback until I found this little dirty secret in the closet

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=31583&item=3042701221

The guy told me on the phone he payed 100 dollars for about 75 games, the auction show 27 dollars which I found out just before I decided to leave him negative instead of positive

He could have easily listed the games but he wanted to be low class, also he stacked them so it would hide the fact that all were sports games instead of having them on the floor vertically

1bigmig is right. I didn't notice that you had left negative feedback. You shouldn't have done that. Did you ask which games were included? I never leave negative feedback unless someone lies to me. Also, once you leave it you can't retract it.

Also, he's bound to retaliate with negative feedback as well and most people will refuse to sell to you with -1 as your feedback.

He did lie to me even though it isnt on paper,my friend and I were both on the phone with him listening and the guy said he payed 100 dollars for 75 games a while back{obviously a few weeks before his auction started,another lie}

This guy lied and was misleadsing he should get a negative for all the tricks he pulled, maybe I am just bitter :-P

I don't think he's in the wrong. Sellers don't list games sometimes, and if the bidder wants to know, there is the "ask seller a question" button. You can ask what games are included, and if they don't feel it's worth their time to list them in the auction, then you just don't bid. Sure you might be bitter, but he's fulfilled his end of the contract.

Atleast you paid for and got an item. There are many people here, myself included, who have paid for an item and never recieved anything.

So he said he paid $100 for those games instead of $27. What does that matter to you? How does it justify your negative with him, because I'm failing to see it. That was a deal with another seller and has no bearing on your auction. It's not stated in the auction, so I think that matter would be null & void.

Its the fact that he lied to me,I just hate liars and misleaders, thats all,I learned my lesson but the guy knew he was being low class,I was just to engrossed in the idea of getting the Nomad and 65 games,we all have been guilty of that

Besides the Battery Pack doesnt work and he said everything was in working condition

I understand you're upset, but you're definitely going to get a neg in return. No seller in their right mind would sell to a bidder with -1 feedback, especially if they got the neg for giving what was a very questionable negative to a seller. It's the buyers responsibility to ask or don't bid - you were in the wrong here. Negs are quite serious on ebay, and most people only give them when they pay and don't recieve anything or recieve something in totally different condition from the picture.

Man tough crowd,I dont care if I get negative feedback, in my mind he was in the wrong plain and simple,if there are people who have posted here doing the same thing or have done the same thing dont try to justify it by painting me out to be the total badguy,I admited I was stupid and should have done my homework but this guy lied and did it intentionally

Sorry man , but you just don't get it. The auction was legit and you screwed up by not asking. One simple e-mail and there wouldn't have been a problem.
It's your fault, so be man enough to admit it and move on.
Also if he told you he paid $100.00 for 75 games, BIG DEAL....It has nothing to do with the LEGALLY BINDING CONTRACT that you went into when you bid on the games.
And you giving him a negative was in violation of that contract .

Oh but thanks for bringing it up , Now you are on my blocked bidders list. 8-)

I see where you didn't do your homework, got bit in the ass because of it, then lashed out because of - as you said at the beginning - your own stupidity. And thanks for the link, as I placed you in my 'nuh-uh' bidders list too.

You gave the guy negative feedback on an auction because he didn't tell you the truth about how much HE paid for it? Big stinkin' deal! Of course he's not going to tell you how cheap he got the games; it's up to you to do your own homework. That was a bad move. I don't think I'd deal with you if you're retalitory like that.

dave2236
10-29-2003, 05:09 PM
Yeah, I definately would have contacted him after I recieved the items.

I hold my feedback until I know the person recieved the items or until they leave feedback for me.

Also games could have come from Media Play, they sold out their used games about 4 years ago for $.50-$3.00

Flack

eBay isn't a store, it's people selling stuff. It's a flea market, a garage sale, a deal on the street. What you get is what's in the ad. If someone runs an ad that says "30 Atari games, Pac-Man and more!" then you should expect to get 1 Pac-Man and 29 Combats.

If anyone is at fault, I would say the buyer is for not sending an e-mail and asking exactly what games were in the auction BEFORE bidding. It's like buying a box lot at an auction and being mad that there's just junk in the box -- no shit.

Blocked from my auctions too. Two reasons:

The way you newbie retaliated in taht Ebay auction, based on your own assumptions.

The way you've acted on this forum.

This is a place for mature discussion.

Well, guys, if I was in his shoes, I'd just cancel that EBay account and make a new one. It's not like he has major feedback here -- he just went from a 0 to a -1, and with a new name and new e-mail account he'll be back at 0, and hopefully a wiser person. 8-)

Which kind of defeats the whole purpose of blocking him from bidding on your auctions, does'nt it? LOL

Nothing personal, but I think that your bad experience is related to your lack of experience on ebay. As someone else had already said, an experienced ebayer would have seen that picture and assumed right away that most, if not all of the games were sports titles. Besides, those red boxes they're packaged in are a dead giveaway.
Also, as yet someone else said, if you wanted to know for certain what games were included then you should have asked. Unless the seller said that certain games were included that weren't then he's fullfilled his end of the bargain and didn't deserve a negative.

Again, this isn't a knock on you. I know how disappointed you are about this. But an experienced ebayer would have seen this coming.

I have to agree ebay's motto is caveat empour (sp?). Anyways if I even have a slight doubt I ask. And getting a nomad with even 75 sports game for that price is pretty good price with shipping and what not. I find it funny you don't know much about ebay but you found this site easily:)

Thats like the guy from australia who bought a game from me when I only take paypal from confirmed adresses. I should have put that in my auction and I will from now on. So I had to let him use bidpay.

I actually found this site searching for the best sega genesis games and this is one that caught my eye,and I do grasp the concept of how ebays works better now as in the past I won 3 or 4 autions and payed no more than 20 with shipping for the items
