Step 1. Click this link: Atari Age (http://www.atariage.com/forums)

Step 2. Go to the Atari 2600 forum.

Step 3. Ask that exact same question.

Step 4. Wait for tons of help to come rolling through. :D

(Oh, and welcome to Digital Press! That tech question will be right up the alley of the AA folks. Be sure and tell 'em Digital Press sent ya. They love us over yonder!)

I think our friends in the Restoration Society might have some help too. Forwarding this to that group now...

You can't use modern rf switches for a lot of older machines, including the 2600. Modern rf's do auto-switching. Older machines need manual ones. Instead of a switch, you can go to radio shack and buy an RCA to Coaxial adaptor. It's really small and should be cheap. Then just plug the cord from your 2600 into the adaptor, and screw the adaptor straight into the coaxial plug on the back of the tv.

The problem is either dirty carts/cart slot, or a fault in the logic. Using an auto-RF switch would produce a fuzzy picture, but the game would be functional.

It's probably just dirt.
