Hello Everyone....

I'm working on a database and I'm wondering 2 things:
I've Identified 6 types:
Card - ie. TG-16 HuCard, SMS
Cartridge
CD-ROM
Diskette
DVD-ROM
Tape

Question one - are there any other types of basic media are there? I'm not looking for "sub-classes" of the above media (Though you could argue the case for card being a type/sub-class of cartridge...)

I guess the deciding factor is in capabilities/technology used etc...

Also - what the heck are the cards for the SMS called? I've been through a few faqs and haven't found their name yet...

Thanks!

not sure, but you might be missing the e-reader type cards

if you seperate CD and DVD you also have to seperate GD and the format the Gamecube uses, the technical differences between GD<->DVD GC<->DVD and CD<->DVD are of a similar "size"

hmm hehe I hadn't even thouht of e-reader cards - see I don't have one hehehe. It's too modern. Give me 10 years LOL

My DB is just looking for general classifications and I will have more detailed information about the media format for each system (i.e. number of pins on a cart connector etc.) So if the GameCube is "technically" a DVD-rom then I'd put it under there and and add the size specifics to the other tables.

What's GD exaclty? I'm not familiar with it at all... what system uses it?
