I am having a Halloween party friday night and most of the people comming do not play video games. Well I bought Dance Revolution Konamix with 2 pads and I plan on having a "dance off" competion, with a 30$ prize put up by me. My question is what are some good songs to use for beginners on this game?

Basically every song is easy when it is in beginner mode. Just listen to the songs that are slow, and you should figure it out. I used to play the original, but not konamix. Have fun!

Yeah, Beginner is easy, but Konamix doesn't have it. If you want Beginner mode, get the original US version (entitled just "Dance Dance Revolution,") or get the new DDR Max 2 for PS2. If you get Max 2, I highly recommend you get the Konami mat bundle. That new soft mat is godly.

Seriously the best way to do it is to get two people who don't know what they're doing up on the mat. Resist the temptation to get on and 'show them how it's done', as that will just scare people away. Also, Tie the mats down or tape them or do a desk chair mat mod or something, because your guests will be sliding the matt all over hell and back, which will make them suck which will make them not want to play. DDRMax2 is definitely the way to go. some songs have videos which people like more.

Beginner may be easy, but it's also more boring than watching paint dry, even for people who have never played the games. If you want to, go ahead and use Konamix, and just have the songs played on basic. Watch the number of "feet" below the song marquee and try to keep it at four or below for the newbies.

Also in Konamix, you should try out Battle Mode (if I remember the name correctly) while on versus. It picks the pace up a bit for most songs and can be pretty fun. Not too hard, not too easy. Just right.

I wanted to do this myself..
My wife just loves those DDR machines...lol..If I say DDR to my 2 yr old son he'll do some footwork dancing..
I can't get one of those machines so the home version will have to do.
What type of Pads did you buy..?
Where did you get them?
How much did you pay for them..?
Do they work well?
I saw two types..A Brittney Dance beat pad at Target for $20.00 & a DDR type pad at EB for $20.00
Will these both work?
I was wondering if these pads were nothing more then a upgraded NES power pad..
I was going to buy 2 of them and try to stick them to something..
Something like those rubber mats that you put under computer chairs so the rug doesn't get ruined..

Konamix is harder than the original US version.
All songs have a difficulty level within the "normal, expert, maniac" modes.
If you want to keep it simple, look for songs with 4 feet or less.
Boom Boom Dollar is great for beginners, and fun too!

Cool, thanks for the advice guys.
@Videogamerdaryll: I got them off Ebay for around 35.99 with 2 pads. They are the standard pads for DDR.
