At my local bowling alley they have a 2-slot neo geo upright. I was thinking of seeing how much it was if they wanted to sell that is. What is a good price for one of these? It has:
King of monsters 2 not to sure if this was it or not
World heroes
Joysticks need some work and monitor is I guess 19" Cab looks to be in good shape.

Is the monitor ok? I'd say start at $150-$200 and stay under $350.

The monitor looks to be ok from what I can tell. There is no burn in or anything.

Neo Geo cabs always go for a good amount because you take a cab with Metal Slug and some fighter and stick it in a medium traffic area and you will see over $400 in a month. The best part is.. add two new carts, say buzzle bobble or something and you get old traffic back.

I picked up a mint condition MVS 4-Slot for $350. I wouldn't spend too much more on a 2-Slot than that. A lot of people selling MVSs try to rip you off. Just make sure you know what the cabs are worth before you agree to buy it. I also found that eBay prices are very high, yet I don't personally feel that they are worth the prices they get on eBay. Also, a nice internet site I found when looking for MVS info was www.hardmvs.com You should consider checking this site out.

I definitely have to say that if you can pick this up at a good price, then get it. I only got my MVS a few weeks ago and because of college I haven't been home to play it a lot, but I love this system. It is definitley better than anything I could have thought. Once you get one you will love it too.

I really want it because it is easy to replace games and such and thanks for the advice so far.

MAME does a great job of Neo-Geo so me, personally, will be going that route.

I paid $200 for my Neo Geo cab with Double Dragon. It's only a single slot but I am moving the cart mech to the front by the coin door so I don't have to slide the cab out to change games. Two auctions ago I saw a full size 4 slot and a mini 4 slot go for $400 each and they both looked near mint.

Aladdin's Castle arcades(Namco) sell their used cabs occasionally. I read they were selling a bunch of 4 slot MVS cabs for $99 a year or two ago. If there's an A.C. in your area you should inquire. They may sell theirs stoopid low.

How hard/expensive would it be to convert a one slot to a four slot? Has anyone ever done this? I read they also made six slot units though I never see them for sale.

I can't say that I am an expert on MVSs, but it doesn't seem too hard to turn a 1-Slot into a 2, 4, or 6-slot. I would have to guess that the only problem you would run into is the fact that the multi slot boards allow you to press a button on the control panel that will allow you to switch between the games. I don't know how you would add one to a 1-Slot cab. Other than that problem, it should just be unplugging the wires from your 1-Slot board and buying a multi-slot board. These tend to go for a lot on eBay. I have seen just 4 or 6 slot boards sell for almost as much as I paid for my whole cabinet. I have seen one 6-slot sell on eBay, but last I saw the price was at over $800, way too much IMHO. Also, if you are gonna buy one, I personally would look for one with the memory card reader on the front. Mine has this which allows me to save my games on an SNK memory card.

Zaxxon...wow...only $99 for a 4-Slot. Hopefully you picked one up if you didn't already have one. If I had an AC around me (I have never even heard of one) I would go and try to buy another MVS or try and get a 2nd cab for my house. I wish I would have known what an MVS was then, I would have picked one up instantly.

I got's to save room for my console collection and carts and owning one cabinet that does everything makes sense..

Sarcasm excepted, but you could have just asked why I would not support MVS cabs instead of just being a numbnutt about it.

You're right, that's it. All you'd need to do would be to mount one or two buttons somewhere on the cab so you could flip through the games, or if you leave them in attract mode they cycle through automatically. It wouldn't be any trouble at all.

Ok I was just pointing out the fact that you jumped in with emulation when it is clear that is not what I wanted to do. I have nothing against mame it is installed on my pc and that is how I played most of the neo games. That is why I wanted to get a cab to have the originals.
