View Full Version : Which Games Satisfy Your Sadistic Side?

So there I was, playing Choplifter on the MAME emulator. I'm flying through the stage, blowing away missile launchers, jeeps, anti-aircraft guns, and jet fighters. I come to the compound where my fellow companions are being held, so I shoot the door off to release them. Upon landing, I accidently squash one them under my helicopter skis. I never knew I could actually kill my comrades! On my next run, I shot the door off the compound and saw my comrades running out. Instead of landing, I hover over them, back and forth, unloading my cannon ammunition into their heads and chests. I know I'm supposed to save these guys, but the sadism is there. Sometimes, I only play the game just to waste the people that depend on me.

screenshot: (After I clear the screen of these military annoyances, I will set my comrades free from the compound... then I will set them free from the world.)

Grand Theft Auto 3 is another game where I can practice sadism in the comfort of my own home, without actually hurting anyone. There's nothing like nesting on a roof top with a sniper rifle and picking off hobos. With all the beggars I encounter at intersections in my city, I take great delight in going home and turning on my Playstation 2 to place bullets in the craniums of lowly vagrants.

What games cater to your sadistic side? Better yet, what do you do in those games?

REMINDER: This is clearly a video game affair. In no way are the forthcoming posters (myself included) a threat to REAL society. We know the difference between REAL life and the video game realm.

Thank you, and start posting your carnage!

I always liked busting up buildings and eating people to regain health in Rampage.

Thank you, Rise of the Triad!

Since it's a PC game, you even get those great little cheat codes to type in for invulnerability, unlimitted missles, etc. Those guys that beg not to be shot are just fantastic for really bitter days. Instead of capping them off with the pistol though, I switch over to the Flamewall for that crumbling skeleton effect. And the Hand of God under unlimited time complements my god complex nicely.

Gibs for all!

Barker Bill's Trick Shooting for NES does the trick. There's one particular level where you can WASTE that laughing dog from Duck Hunt. Sure it penalizes you lives, but that dog isn't laughing anymore after you pop a cap in his ass. Very gratifying.

Poor puppy! As always, The Legacy of Kain series always comes through for me! Kain's such a sadistic, sarcastic BAD@$$! The Tecmo Deception games are also good for this, though I've only played Kagero: Deception II-

NARC: there's nothing like pumping a rocket into a gaggle of drug pushers.

Red Faction: why do I get a tingly feeling when I place a bomb onto the face of an NPC and then laugh as they run screaming with arms flailing?

Pro Wrestling: while not a gory game, I do get a special joy when I send my character off of the top rope onto a downed opponent about 30 times.

Oh yeah, and sniping in GTA 3. I love trying to get as many badges as possible and then try to run from the law.

I hate to admit it, but I still laugh my ass off every time I play postal and torch the marching band and all of the crowd.

Another is Spy Hunter. Ramming the cars off the road like that is what I fantasize about every day on the way home from work. Especially the motorcycles.

Yup, what ClubNinja said, pretty much word for word. ROTT is great stress relief. It will have even extra added bonuses of fun and goodness when I play on Halloween and Christmas (or feel like setting my system clock to those days), just for the tiny touch of holiday themes. "God bless us, everyone... cuz you're sure as hell gonna need it when I'm through with you" *pulls out drunk missile*

Doom for the PS1. I forget the name of the level but when you walk past a certain point a shit load of monsters appear. I like to turn on "GOD" mode and walk through with the chain saw.
