View Full Version : The Many Ways To Play Games...
Over the years, my brother and I had devised several weird ways to play the old videogames. Anything weirder then these?
1)We have an old magnoprojector thing, used to enlarge images. We held it up to the TV and projected the game image onto the ceiling of my bedroom. Then we played the game which was on the ceiling.
2)Another time we had this mirror in my brothers room. The TV was aligned directly across from the TV. We looked through the mirror while playing the games, reversing the game so to speak.
I had wanted to do an article on this for my site, is there any other unique ways to play games.

Some people can play video games using only their feet. For extra hard challenge, play a 2 players game like Contra or Gradius using both hands and feet by yourself. Average human mind can't handle multitaking like this easily.

Oh! Me and my hubbykins have this one game we play where he's the bad school boy and.. Oh, not THAT kind of game?
I've heard of a video where a girl plays a game without using her hands OR her feet...
my friend Alex had broken his arm and hand pretty bad last year...they had to stick spikes in it to heal it. Being a videogame fan, he played SSBM with his chin...

I actually used to be VERY good playing fighting games with my feet. Street fighter 2 and mortal kombat 2, I was just as good with my feet as I was with my hands, could do all of the special moves, etc.. Haven't tried that in YEARS...

I like trying to beat Ninja Gaiden 2 without using the sword (only on bosses, of course). So far I can only get to 3-2 (Stupid birds!)

in College we used to play SNES Mario Kart battling drunk out of our minds.
That might not sound unusual, but the rules were you had to dance to the music (on the stereo, not the game) in front of the TV while you played. Adds a whole new level of fun, trust me.

I used to play megaman 2 with my feet. It had a cheat where, when a certain combo was depressed on the 2nd controller, you could super jump. I used to control megaman with my hands on P1, while putting that combo in when needed on P2.

I have beaten Thunder Spirits for the SNES using only one hand (on a standard SNES controller). I don't think I lost a life until the last level. Even then, I think I only died three times.

PS. Everybody played Gyromite with their feet. R.O.B the robot sucked.

The most fun game variation I can think of is beating THe Legend of Zelda for NES without getting a sword. It's actually possible to acquire all other items and reach Ganon in both quests. Challenging, but doable.
another thing I did before...on Crusin USA for N64, you can control the vehical with one hand...control 2 vehicals at once though it gets confusing after a time

I've just gotten into this with shmups. It only works with games where the boss battle is timed. (Oh and this won't work for bullet crazy games such as Mars MAtrix) I try to make it through without shooting a thing. A recently released shooter even gives a special rank for not shooting. It's hard to do, but fun, I think.

That was Megaman 3. Holding right on the second controller's d-pad would activate the super jump.

After conquering Super Punch-Out (i.e. getting a #1 time of 25 seconds or less for each of the 16 opponents) I decided to give myself a new challenge...I started a new file as "B-fold" and played the game blindfolded!
I did quite well actually. I made it to Dragon Chan, but that series of 3 kicks he does has no set directional pattern! ACK!
