View Full Version : Import Turbo CDs
I am looking for help expanding my Turbo duo collection
Can anyone recommend good import games that don't
require knowledge of a foreign language?
I like all types of games so any recommendations
would be appreciated

Head over to our FAQ page:

"PC Engine Games For a U.S. Audience"
That is a great help but I would still
appreciate any help in recommending which
ones are worth buying

Ack!!!! No!! Golden Axe is terrible on the Turbo CD......easily one of the ugliest versions of the game I've ever seen. Plays like a turd too.

Erm, what he said! Definitely get Chi no Rondo. It's the Holy Grail among Castlevania. I would give you my opinion, but I still need a PCE-CD or a TurboDuo, preferably the latter. :D

Spriggan Mark II
Am I the only one that hates this game? I was playing it the other day and it must have hte worst pacing of any shmup EVER. JUST when I start to get into the groove....MASSIVE dialogue! Gah! Then I lose it and get wasted. I couldn't BELIEVE the amounts of dialogue in-game in that one!

Lots of good games above!
Here's some more CD-based imports that I play on my Duo a lot, and don't require Japanese (I sure don't know any Japanese):
Pomping World (aka Buster Bros.)
Rayxanber II
Super Raiden (some flicker in the graphics occasionally, but it plays great. . .I have Raiden on the Jaguar but prefer this version. . .that may or may not be saying much :))
Wonderboy III: Monster Lair
I realize that you could play some (all?) of those games on other systems, but they are nonetheless good PC Engine/TurboDuo games.

I actually like Spriggan 2. If you don't compare it to the first which is totally different I think it's pretty good. I think Valis 3 and 4 are worth getting as their better than the Megadrive and Snes versions respectively.
Here are some of my favorites
Dracula X
Kaze Kari
Fray cd Xak Gaiden(some dialogue but you can still enjoy it)
Slyphia
Soldier Blade
1943 Kai
Bikkuriman World
Double Dragon 2
Ninja Gaiden
W-Wing
Chiki Chiki Boys
Fausette Armour
Far East of Eden Kabuki Klash
Street Fighter 2
Hellfire S
Horror Story
Shockman 3
Zero Wing
Sidearms Special
Motoroader MC
Kiaden
Mizabuku Adventure
Kyukyuko Tiger

Ok, I need you PC Engine heads to do me a HUGE favor...
CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN TO ME THE APPEAL OF SHIBIBINMAN 3?
Please? After the first level (riding in the mechanical walker is cool) I quickly lose interest. Collecting those little soda can looking thingys puts me to sleep. Are there hidden weapons, mechs, or something I'm missing?

Spriggan Mark II
Am I the only one that hates this game?
I actually didn't mean to type that. I mean the first one... jsut Spriggan. Cheaper, and better. I don't think the 2nd one is that bad... just not as good as the first.
