Since the location had to be rented (ie money already spent), tomorrow is locked in.

Mike if it is still on as of tomorrow I will do my best to be there. I hope the weather cooperates. Will donations be accepted to help defray your costs for this one or for any in the future?

North Jersey is another story, since they're not supposed to see the changeover.

Unfortunately they're predicting blizzard-like conditions and 10-20 inches in Northern NJ. I'll be playing it by ear but it doesn't look like I'l be making it.

Wuss. ;)

Seriously, I'm hoping every uses common sense and only attempts it if the weather is bearable.

Hehehe, all of this talk of snow and driving is interesting to me. I live in Wisconsin, and I swear that when it snows, everyone starts going _faster_. It's like the big, "oh, we're from Wisconsin! No problem!" syndrome hits, and you've got semi's flying by at 70 MPH as the weather man tells you that we've had six inches of snow in the last two hours. It's pretty nuts.

If you drive, drive slowly especially if you drive a larger vehicle. People in SUVs and trucks are always ending up in the ditches up here because they can accellerate pretty good with four wheel drive... but four wheel stop doesn't work half as good on vehicles with that much weight.

Good luck with everything. I wish I could be there :) I'm going with a group of kids to the Kalahari Waterpark tomorrow (don't worry, it's indoors! I'm from Wisconsin but I'm not that crazy!) though, so I'll be doing something fun too :)

We have decided to go on with the meeting as planned. While we expect attendance to be light, we are using this as a dry run to see how well the loaction will work in the future.

Anyone planning on attending, drive carefully and see you there!

Sorry I was unable to make it the snow finally stopeed falling. Having a 65 foot driveway really sucks sometimes. Please let us know the brave ones who made it out and some of the action that took place. I hope everyone made it to and from safely.

Turns out I couldn't make it...damn. My dad decided the weather was too bad about 75 miles throught the 80 mile trip and then turned back. But hopefully I'll make it to the one in March or whatever.

Well, Mike... What was the turnout? How did it go?

I decided not to go because of the snow....

Hopefully, next time, though!

I may really need to get to this show...

Ive been going through my stuff over the last hour and im getting nervous at the amount of stuff i had stored away lol.
i would need somebody to bring me in a van, thats how bad it is.
2 big ass boxes of 3DO games, 2 boxes of genesis carts,
4 boxes of turboduo stuff, controllers and systems.
goddamn i even have like every video game magazine put out by various companies since "85" i think...

If anybody in the ct area is going, and wants to carpool let me know.
other than that ill have to pray for a CT show.
Id need at least 4 tables to hold all the stuff i want to get rid of.

Same here, the snow wasn't too bad, except that there was a layer of ice below the snow.......slippery driving

When was the tenative date for the next? And how was the venue?

Technically, *I* didn't have to go, since I wasn't in charge of this one, just the promotion end. ;)

I did make the trek (took about 1:30 instead of 45 minutes, so that's what the roads were like here) to see if the room would work in the future. I liked the place quite a bit and have put in a request to reserve the room for sometime late March / early April. I was waiting for a response before posting here since I wanted to announce the date, but alas it hasn't happened yet. Hopefully within the next few weeks I'll know for sure.

As for this one, it could be considered the NAVA that wasn't ;). Fortunately, I was able to call a few people that I had numbers for to tell them to go back to bed and we stuck around a few hours just in case anyone I couldn't reach decided to show.

So watch this space and your email if you're on the list for a definite date.

We finally have a date for the next get together. April 3rd from 3pm - 11 pm at the same location. Emails will go out as we get a little closer and web site should be updated by Monday to reflect the date.

I've spent most of the day on a plumbing project. I won't be able to arrive until about 8:30 or 9pm - should I still make the drive, or will everyone have gone home by the time I arrive?

Of course, I don't even know if anybody at the meeting is checking the boards, but I figured I'd give this a try.

Steve

Patrick Wong and I arrived there around nine and they were just closing up. Still, we managed to hang outside with Mike and Scott until around 11 when we decided to go to the nearby White Castle and Blockbuster where we stayed till nearly one.

So how was it?

I enjoyed it. I might've stuck around a little longer if I knew more people were coming; it seemed to be winding down when we (Drexel and I) left around 7:00.

Mike was kind enough to rent out a pretty nice sized space. Definitely an improvement over the usually super-crowded conditions in the old VGC store. Missed the arcade games though.

Don't worry, I've got something up my sleeve for the next go around that should satisfy. Nothing definite yet but I should have an idea witih a few weeks.

Jon,

I just sent you an email. I am in Orlando. Let me know what comes of this.

Jeff

Well, I could give it a try. If there is enough interest.
Go ahead and hook me up with Mike. I'd like to give it a shot. 8-)
