Last night, I found another long lost Atari 8-bit game, River Rescue (Thorn Emi). I love the hunt, and feel that searching for old ROMs of games gone by is very similar to finding the real cartridges out in the wild.

There are some systems, mainly the computers (Amiga, ST, 8-bit, C64) that have ROMs that are not easy to find. Sometimes I can't even remember the title either. But, there is definite satisfaction in scouring the net and tracking down a game. For the same reason, I tend to shy away from the packs of full, complete sets of ROMs, which I've started to notice alot more lately. To me, it's kinda like cheating, and I really don't like downloading them. I don't mind getting help finding a single game, but not EVERY game ever released for the system. It takes the fun out of the hunt.

I felt this way after I found Menace for the Amiga...one of the first games I ever bought for the system. I am STILL looking for "Obliterator" by Psygnosis in adf format for the Amiga however!

Obliterator for the Amiga can be found on PlanetEmu (http://www.planetemu.net/). Do a search (top left) for Obliterator, and it should come up in the Amiga section. I believe that's what you are looking for. Let me know if it works.

For some reason I can't seem to download from there...damn.

Frankly, a lot of the time I just feel dirty after searching for ROMs for a while. See, after I come across a tenth page with nothing but pop-up ads, porno banners, and links to completely useless "Top 10 ROM Websites!" links, I begin to question whether it is really proper to indulge in such an illegal activity at all.
