Hello all...I found the Langrisser 2 ROM and applied the English patch to it and it works beautifully. I would love to be able to play this on the Genesis instead of an emulator though. Is there such thing as a flash cart for the Genesis that would allow me to transfer the ROM to a writable cartridge like there is for the GBA? If only the sequels to this series had been brought to America...(I love Warsong) Thank you!

Well, there's always those floppy based "backup" units.

Though, I do believe someone once posted at SMSpower about a Genesis/Megadrive flash cart they were producing. Not sure how that panned out, though.

You could always buy a ROM burner and make the replacement chip yourself..... :D

Spendy, but it'd work......

They have them there. Kinda expensive but someone on here bought one from there.

That would be me.

For about $70, you can get one that you can flash Genesis roms to and play them on your Genesis. For $100 or so, you can get one with double the RAM, allowing you to also flash 32x games to it as well.

The whole system is a bit cumbersome until you get it down. You've got to use both a parallel AND a USB connection, AND it has to be the right kind of parallel port (doesn't work on my laptop or one workstation, does work on the other).

If you flash multiple games to the cart, it automatically makes a little menu, so when the Genesis fires up you can then choose which game you want.

If you have any other questions about it, feel free to PM me.

And for $100 or so, you can buy a ROM burner and chips, and BURN the ROMS to a chip and install it in your Langrisser 2 cart :) Which is what I'm VERY tempted to do.....

Maxlords, have you read up on the sort of eproms/flash chips you will need? Or found any information about that? I've poked around before after some experience with custom NES carts and have found very little in terms of what devices to use and their respective pinouts.

Just relaying that the Genesis in terms of a development/tech community is pretty small compared to the other systems out there for some reason.

That's a good route to take if you have just a few games you want to play on the Genesis, and you want to keep them on cart forever. If you're wanting to do a lot, or change them often, I like the flashrom idea.
