I never get manuals...

It seems like every used game I obtain never has the original instruction manual. It's not like I need the manuals, I could get such info at GameFAQs. But it does irk me sometimes. How often has anyone purchased a game still with the manual intact?

Manuals are VERY important to my SMS collection, and that's why it's taking me so long to finish putting my MS collection together.

Virtually EVERY game I buy has the manual, but that means passing up ALOT of games that don't have them.

Usually I won't buy a game if it's sans manual. But that's just me :)

i usually only buy complete games, i do only accept others if they are really rare, in a lot or still a pretty good buy to resell ;)

What generation are you talking about? I don't mind not getting manuals when I buy VCS games. But if I'm buying current generation stuff I just don't bother. I passed up a couple of PS1 games today for that exact reason.

With my Genesis collection I usually make sure the game is complete but I'm a little more loose with the SNES stuff I buy.

FYI, there are a couple sellers on ebay who sell manuals so keep your eyes peeled for those auctions if you're in need of a manual.

Heh, should have specified what I meant. I was generally referring to NES, SNES, and Genesis games. I was very lucky to get Splatterhouse 3 with the manual AND the box. :D

Of course, manuals are still very easy to find on the GC, PS2, and XBOX. :P

As I do most of my game buying at thrifts and fleas I'd say it's a real crap shoot as to whether or not I'll get a manual. If it's NES or older the chance of getting a manual or box for that matter is real slim.

I usually WON'T buy a CD game unless it has the box and manual. I do have a few loose Sega CD and Saturn games and a few PS1 games that were former rentals and just have the cover of the manual.

The only cart games I'm a little pickey about are SMS, Genesis, Snes and N64. But with these if it at least has the box i'm happy.

With all other carts loose is just fine with me. I'm about 5 shy of 500 NES games and only have about 50 with boxes and manuals.

I guess my thinking is grab the game, there's always a chance I'll get a complete copy at another time.

I like everything to be boxed, but I'm not too picky about the manuals. If they're there it's a bonus, but not essential.
They still look just as good stacked together on the shelf :)

Every single game I've purchased after 1995 brand new, as its original manual and box. I don't see why it shouldn't? Its absurd to throw out the manual and box of a game.
