Real or scam?

I recieved the following e-mail:

* Misrepresentation of Identity (User) - Representing yourself as another eBay user or registering using the identity of another.
Due to the suspension of this account, please be advised you are prohibited from using eBay in any way. This includes the registering of a new account.
Please note that this suspension does not relieve you of your agreed-upon obligation to pay any fees you may owe to eBay.
According to our site policy you will have to confirm that you are the real owner of the eBay account by completing the following form or else your account will be deleted.

Now I did nothing wrong and the link isn't working. I have a feeling of scam, but wanted to know. I logged into my e-bay account (Through the real e-bay site) and it has no mentions whatsoever of this. My account is still working...

log on the normal way and what happens? sounds like BS, like a fake directing link.

When I logged on the normal way to the real e-bay web site, everything was normal. It had no mention of what was said in the e-mail. I was able to check auctions and leave feedback as usual. I figured it is a scam, but wanted to make sure

Yup, it's a scam. I got one a few months ago, went to my eBay account and things were normal. Pass it along to the real safe harbor though:

Idon't even think there is a cgi3 on eBay... whenever you get emails like this, DON'T LISTEN.

I think the big give-away is the fact that 'unconvenience' is not a real word.

I got an phony the other day with a link to cgi3-ebay.com. That site has disappeared, and the registrant information has since changed. Weird. There's also a cgi3-ebay.net, .info, .us, and probably more.

I knew something didn't sound right with that last sentence LOL

It was probably a form meant to steal your password for identity theft.

Ironic, huh?
