Mega Man 3 for the Megadrive? [Archive]

I have found what seems to be a copy of Mega Man 3 for the Megadrive (asian / japanese). Is this an official release, or is it just a pirate rip off? And is it worth getting? If it is just some old Megadrive platformer with Megaman sprites stuffed in, i'm not really interested. Any ideas anyone?

Sorry!! Didn't realise that geocities had gone ape about putting pictures into message boards etc. They automaticall suspended my site because I hooked the images into the message board.

I have removed the images, and the webpage link should work now. grrrr!

Well it has the Japanese Megadrive symbol on the spine, and the title is clearly Rockman X3. The troiuble is the guy wants about $60 for it, and I am not sure if it is really worth it if it is a bootleg rip of some other game.

Also it has no manual, and the guy says it is brand new and never had any, which makes me suspect that it is a bootleg. Any ideas anyone?

I believe that's a fully recreated pirate original version of Megaman X 3. If it's the same dumped version I'm thinking of, it's actually very good for what it is. Cool find.

:shock: ...not worth $60, though! i have the md tetris (by tengen) on a pirate cart with a box, and i've been offered a ridiculous amount of money for it a few times. i'm not selling it simply because the original is most likely out there, and i try not to deal in that stuff...er, that and the fact that i want the original version before i take that bag of loot for my parrot cart, lol... :wink:

Yes, this is a bootleg of Rockman X3. The ROMs are dumped, if you want to try it out first. I can't say I really recommend the game.

Thanks for the info! If it is a bootleg then I am not quite so intrested in it, but since it is actually a full port of the original game I might go for it. But not for $60. I might stretch to $30 if they will let it go for that - or, more likely, I will see if they will trade it for something(s).
