Edit--a question comes to mind: Hyperlinks or plain URLs?
It's come to my attention that Digital Press Industries has set its sights on becoming the Only 24-bit hom--er, a quantum leap forward in game scholarship. So to help out with this task we think it a good idea to put together a list of the best game related sites out there (some more obscure of course).
Take a moment to look through the Links Page (http://pub3.bravenet.com/freelink/show.php?usernum=191422515&cpv=1) and put down your suggestions.
So far on my list:
1.) Sort them out! If you have any ideas about the best way of categorizing our links spell them out (Generally, more categories or less?)
2.) Weed out those sites which unfortunately have departed--if anybody knows that a site currently listed with a bad link has moved please provide the URL!
3.) Add references to a couple of the best living sites on classicgaming.com (which is hosted by GameSpy Industries) -- The Castlevania Dungeon and Contra HQ (Kurt Kalata), and some others
4.) Other sites which we all love and need to put up--for example, worldofspectrum.org and a couple others.
5.) Foreign sites--there are a good number which are very nice, even if you don't link to ROM sites.
I only ask that you post everything right here--my inbox isn't full, but there's a couple things in there I want to let survive for another day ;)
Thanks!
Sotenga

Don't forget just plain old http://www.shmups.com - for some reason you've gpt cg.com/shmups listed twice.
Aside from my own sites, which Sotenga already listed, I can't think of any off the top of my head. I just need to go look around a bit.

Sure.. here's a great Game and Watch site I stumbled upon not too long ago. It's got other stuff but this is the meat of it.
...Lots of pics and almost all have scanned manuals! :)

I'll throw my hat in that ring - http://www.fatmangames.com
We've done many weeks dedicated to a specific classic system, and such. Focus is on collection - have lists/want lists/trading, etc etc.

I'll vouch for fatmangames... they have a good thing going there.

This is one of my favorite sites because it's so specialized and packed with info and screenshots:
http://s64.emuunlim.com/
Just C64 sports games :D
I would love to do a similar page for the Atari consoles or computers one of these days I have a thousand free hours.

I'll humbly suggest my own site, The Odyssey2 Homepage!
http://www.classicgaming.com/o2home/
I think it's fair to say it's one of the oldest and most complete sources of Odyssey2 information on the Web. Seven years and counting!
Also, I didn't see http://www.gamearchive.com listed, although I might have overlooked it. It's a fantabulous source of arcade & pinball flyer scans and data sheets.

Two kick sweet PC Engine sites:
PC Engine Sunteam
http://www.pcengine.co.uk/
Universo PC Engine
http://pcengine.gamehall.com.br/
Sector NGP (Neo Pocket site)
http://www.classicgaming.com/sngp/
*edit: removed previously mentioned sites.

I'll take your word on the Odyssey^2 page; I'm trying to keep the list of Classicgaming sites a little short 'cuz a bunch of them are dead. However, if you say it's complete, well by gosh it's complete.
I'll put in gamearchive alone with The Arcade Flyer Archive (http://www.arcadeflyers.com/)

Nice Page! Certainly a keeper for the list.
Just one word, though--that's Nielsen, and The Neilsen was my old H.S. history teacher's uncle. Great site though.
Okay, here's what I have at this very minute (not even done with what people have thrown at me yet). Please note that when you see a hyphen such as
-Imports
that means this is a subcategory under a larger heading. I'll need to have a "cover page" for the Links section with hyperlinks to the various different subsections, which may in themselves warrant a page of their own.

Hello!
I have a couple links for classic game reviews.
Like Sotenga's I-mockery.com link, www.x-entertainment.com once in a while reviews games. Recently the Texas Chainsaw Massacre Atari 2600 game was reviewed. The site's articles almost always have to do with retro anything, be it games, movies, food products, etc.
On a much more lighter note, the game reviews at www.somethingawful.com/rompit/ are not to be taken seriously, they're there for laughs. LOL
I don't know if these count as 'serious' links, but I thought you'd might find them entertaining!
