Anybody play with any of these? I saw two of 'em yesterday I had never seen before so I picked 'em up. "eJay" something and "MAGIX" something.

They're amusing but I'm not sure I'll ever have the time to create anything on 'em.

Anybody used these or the "MTV" one or anything else? Any serious musicians out there?

(I have to admit I'm also curious as to how common they are - I can't see them having large press runs but you never know).

I loved MTV Music Generator on PSX, didn't care much for the PS2 one, but I did get one of those nifty USB Sampling Kits.

Lotsa talk about these games here:

For a $10 piece of software, Magix Music Maker is pretty damn good. In addition to a few hundred loops to sequence, there's also a built-in keyboard and beatbox to make your own. I made a small chunk of songs with that, actually. Still got 'em on my comp in mp3 form. PM me if you care.

If you guys are ever serious about making music, Acid Pro is a good program that these music games are made after. Fruity loops is great too.

I used to love playing around with MTV Music Generator on the ps1. I saw the cheapo one for ps2 but haven't had a chance to try it yet. I used to love making crappy songs on the MTV game!

Acid Pro is fun because you don't need to know anything about music to use it. All you need is lots of stuff to loop.

Fruityloops works as a great companion to Acid Pro, but be warned: Music knowledge is necessary. ^_^
