I just got one of these in the mail today that I won on ebay awhile and back and I have a question about it. I bought it because it has A/V output and I want to play my Sega SG-1000/SC-3000 games in the U.S. It turns out the system I got is PAL and not Japan NTSC. I thought the A/V output should work anyway but it is PAL too. It works if I adjust the vertical hold on my monitor but the picture is black & white. Do all PAL machine output PAL whether the output is RF, A/V, RGB or whatever? Any chance anyone has a NTSC Sega SC-3000 they wan't to trade for PAL? Also where was a PAL SC-3000 sold? It is not a Yeno or John Sands model and I got it from Hong Kong.
Thanks, y-bot

PAL systems output PAL no matter the output used. You can find converters for the problem you're have to get the color back...you should also note that new tvs filter out PAL signals so even the color fix wont help if you end up hooking it up to a new tv. That's the trouble with PAL. If you want to play SC-3000/SG-1000 games i'd recommend finding a sega Mark III. Those were Japan only and all output NTSC-J so you dont have to worry about getting a PAL machine...I love mine. ANyway, sorry you have to deal with this PAL dilemma, but it could be worse...You could have 10 PAL systems and be unable to use any of them because you only have a new TV, like me

Australia & NZ, I think (or was this the John Sands model?)
