I suck at Bomberman...period.

I bought Bomberman Generations today because every magazine I've read puts the game on its must-have list of GameCube games. I don't doubt that it's a great game. It looks great and it has infinite replay value. IMO, coin battle is probably the best mode in the game. I can see how it can be addictive and fun in a multi-player atmosphere, but from where I'm looking the computer cheats like a mofo.

You might be very close to winning, and then the AI players seem to gang up on you. The only other Bomberman game I own is Online for the Dreamcast, and I used to hate that one because the computer gave me no chance of winning. Is malicious AI a staple of the Bomberman experience, or am I just a bad player? Keep in mind that I set the computer's level to weak...

I was not aware that there was a Bomberman for the gamecube... I am going to have to see if they have it for rent at my local video store... I have always loved the bomberman series. But to tell you the truth I have not played much bomberman other then the ones for the SNES...

Yeah, try the SNES Bomberman. That one has the best playability of any of the series! :D

Saturn bomberman is the best of the ones i tried.

Try playing 10 players on the wide level, on a wall using a projector :)
Did that last week and i havent had that much fun in a long time!

My personal favorite Bomberman game is Super Bomberman 2 on the SNES. That one has the greatest multiplayer, IMO. I also thought the bosses were also excellent.

There are no bad players, only bastard CPU opponents. It does seem like you're up against an unfair AI. I never played Bomberman on Dreamcast myself, so I'm not really sure on that.

sorry, totally wrong, there is a japanese version of Bomberman Online available for pc and it has a huge user-base, you need broadband though, but it's great to play online against japanese guys which you don't understand at all, and believe me, the ai is NOTHIN against those freaks :p

i'm a big fan of the bomberman series, got super bomberman 2 for snes, bomberman 64 for n64, bomberman online for dc, and bomberman generations for gc. i will admit that the computer can get ridiculously difficult on some of these... but enough patience and practice will get you through.

one thing i don't understand though... everyone dogs the n64 version, while it is quite a bit different from the rest (an obvious statement), it is one of my favorites in the series, especially the multi-player. i've spent so much time with my friends on the multi. Field of Grass kicks ass.

I don't think Hudson wants to stray to far from their bread and butter: Mario Party. An update to a pretty much forgotten 2D shooter probablly won't get over outside of Japan. They sure are sitting on a few semi-popular/popular franchises that I'd love to see released stateside (BONK!).

i did try it, registration is a pain in the ass if u don't understand japanese, but there are some english sites about the game that have tutorials

it's a fun game, but i only have isdn, so it's laggy on my pc

and yes, it's freeware and it has realms like other online-games (diablo2...)

Well there was also Atomic Bomberman from Interplay. I haven`t played it in a while and it is 5+ years old but it did have online play. I don`t know if the community is still around or not though.

man i wish i had still had friends that would play games with me. i remember one of the snes bombermans was so fun with other peoples. i had one for psx for awhile but the load times were so aweful you couldn't play it.

anyone else have probs finding peeps to play games with? nobody will play with me :(
