I'm glad you guys can still get some good buys at Goodwill. I bought stuff at Goodwill and Salvation Army all the time. I would go to every one within a 100 mile radius of where I live about once a week. Within the past year or so things have really dried up. The only things I can find there now are ones that I know are rare but no one else would (this board aside of course) or that are broken. I guessed the answer a few months before I had confirmation from two different people I deal with out of state. Too many people have discovered the internet/ebay and the videogames just walk out the back door either literally (employee five finger discount) or figuratively (lets' see I'll price Chronotrigger and Final Fantasy II at $2 each and buy them myself).

I've been using their discount cards for years now, except they do it differently in my area (Connecticut). When you fill your card (10 $15 purchases) your filled card gets you 25% off of a future purchase. 25% is a much better deal than $15 in some cases, especially if you hold it until you make a LARGE purchase.

The thrifts around here are still pretty good, but I've been noticing that some of the games I don't grab are mysteriously winding up in a local video game shop, at a marked up price. I'm positive they're the same games I run across, because they have uniqe features like names or label stains. So I know SOMEBODY from that game store, or who sells to that game store hits the thrifts too.
No problem--I like a little competition! Let them try. They shall fail!!
The GWs here also have the Frequent shopper club and they advertise it. They also give you a 20% off coupon if you donate anything.
