Sorry for the delay, but here we go!

Official 2003 Secret Santa signup list & Rules

Okay! This is going to be the official signup list for Secret Santa. You'll have until Friday, November 14th to sign up HERE if you're interested. You must post in this thread.

Now, on to the rules! Giddyap, Rudolph!

#1- As we haven't come up with a fair and reasonable standard to decide who participates and who doesn't, this year will once again be open to anyone who wants to join. HOWEVER, I do reserve the right to deny participation at any time, or boot someone out if I think they're about to flake.

#2- AFTER the signup list is complete, I will make a new post. This will cover how to email me your information, and what information I will need from you. This includes want lists, shipping addresses, etc. This will also include a shipping deadline.

#3- The straight-up swap I was hoping for last year didn't work out well in all aspects; some people just didn't have what people wanted, or they wanted something new. So, we'll be changing it just a bit: You can still feel free to send out items you already have, from your collection, trade pile, etc, and once again, we'll leave that individual limit up to you. You can also feel free to purchase something, be it from eBay or a retail store, online or off, but I will be setting a spending limit of $30 on that. Keep in mind shipping charges in regards to the limit. We don't want anyone busting the bank for something that's supposed to be fun.

I talk A LOT. 'Diarrhea of the mouth' was a term coined to describe me. SO, to cut to the chase, I'm IN.

Now then, where was I? Oh yeah...

I could swear I was in 2 years ago, but for the life of me I can't remember what I gave, what I got, or who I sent to or received from (!), so maybe not. Although I'd like to be able to say I have been in it from the beginning.

Now last year, I was very anxious that what I was sending wasn't adequate. After all, I am very reluctant to trade as I never want to give anything up, I think we were supposed to avoid buying anything new last year, and the wantlist sent to me didn't really match up well with what I had in my collection. However, after all was said and done my recipient (I don't remember who it was) seemed perfectly satisfied, so all's good there.

As for the DP'er that sent me things, well, I was very satisfied there as well. I got a lot of cool things that I was very happy to get.

I DO recall who Santa was in my case, but I'm not naming names at this time. See, I used to work in an office that had a 'Cutthroat Christmas' Secret Santa swap every year. And one year, as a gag, my office-cubicle-mate received a purple Avon rubber hippo tape dispenser. He used it all the next year, and at the following year's Christmas party, he gave it to somebody else. It's likely the dispenser is still making the rounds, being given to another person every year. Now, as I'm sure my SS from last year has guessed, one of the items he gave me was 'special'. I'm thinking I may just include it in the bundle I ship out this year, and perhaps it could be a new DP tradition - this particular item could just make the rounds, visiting a new person each year. Sort of like the Combat Across America cart, only travelling more slowly.

I think this will be fun, and once again, I'm IN!!!!
