What was the story on NEC's 32 bit system? The NEC FX. Could somebody give me a brief history on it, or a link to a webpage that breaks down the reality of this system.

The PC-Engine and Duo systems were big time systems in Japan, so what the hell happened with NEC's follow up system?

Why does it look like a mini computer tower?

Does it have any games that are really good?

It's the PC-FX and it's really a cool system...Almost impossible to play most games if you cant read japanese though. There are tons of PC-FX fanboys floating around the neet. Just do a google and you should find some info.

Ah, the PC-FX. I want this system dearly, along with a japanese Duo-R so that I might enjoy all of NEC's goodness.

Plus, a rather interesting Japanese Joshi (women's pro wrestling) game is on it I want to try...

I own one with about 5 games (just about all that's playable for us non-Japanese folk). I LOVE Battle Heat.

Other than that you can pretty much take or leave it. If you can get one cheap I'd say go for it. Oh, also if you have extra room - because you won't be playing it very often. Nice conversation piece though.

As everyone else has said, this is definitely a niche system... Zeroigar, Chip Chap Kick, Battle Heat, Zenki and Power Dolls FX are probably the best of the bunch that the average joe can play. The rest are dating sims, hentai games, RPG's (Dragon Kinight IV is gorgeous), and various Anime compilations.

I went to the site and scrolled down to see the most god-awful images of the polygonal Bonks Adventure remake for the PS2.

I'm in shock and awe.

Wow, I never realized Bonk could look so...soo...scary.

Other than that, looks like a must-have title, eh? The backgrounds remind me of Yoshi's Island somewhat :D

Too bad this system didn't get better support and go stateside :/

I will say that you'd better pick one up, and fast, if you want to get into the "club." What, only 100,000 of these sold, or so?
