I have an SG-1000 II, a Super Cassette Vision, a Super Cassette Vision Lady Edition, and a Sega Mark III, all fromt the same Japanese seller. I am using a new HDTV in the US with these consoles. The Sega Mark III didn't work at first, until I used my US master system power adaptor with it, now it works swell. Now the other consoles do NOT work. I have tried them with their Power Supply and with my own American sega power supplies which have the same Voltage and Milliamp output, and all I can get with RF is snow, but different snow than when the power was off. Im guessing that a signal is going through but my TV just can read it. I also tried using my Mark III A/V cord with the SCVs (which should work since its just a standard A/V to oversized serial (same as US SMS)) and all I get is a humming noise....Can someone please help me! I my tv unable to read japanese console signals older than 1984? Please let me know...any info would be helpful.

Doesn't the channel have to be on something weird like 94? I seem to remember having to set my famicom on some really weird channel....

I thought you had to set your television to 97 to use a famicom. Can anybody verify this?

I've heard 96 as well, and why isn't this in the Import forum? Courteous VGF mod push please?

Whoa, good thing to know. I wonder if this is only the case with those two systems..?

it also helped me with my regular cassette vision, which I always assumed was broken...my guess is any pre-A/V system needs to be set to a channel in the 90s if it's japanese.
